Looking for something like Sakuran where the main character is an oiran (courtesan). Actually, doesn't have to be an "oiran" per se but even any sort of brothel-based prostitute of any time period, as long as it is the main character who is in this situation. The story has to be from the prostitute's/courtesan's point of view.

Either a male or a female prostitute is fine. (For example, in Sakuran the lead is a female courtesan, but at the same historical time, "kagema" or young male prostitutes also existed. I'm just sayin'.)

Any genre is fine apart from hentai.

these are two that I can think of off the top of my head, but they're pretty softcore compared to sakuran. Still pretty good reads though.

There may be one or two more I can come up with if I sit down and think about it, but they'd probably nonhistorical.
