Psycho Sematic Effects of Manga

Personally, when I read manga or watch anime, I get so involved with the plot and characters that my head hurts and i get queezy and my blood pressure rises. How does manga and anime make you feel physically when you read it? Am i the only one who feels like that? Feel free to cite examples.

You're shortening your life, you know that?
Nothing like that in my case.

I'm not really talking about the psycholgical, but more physiological. So i don't think that they're similar topics at all. You know like when you listen to metal you get aggressive and stuff? That thread is more like a goofy type thing.
Anyway death is inevitable. i drink and smoke too so i'm aiming to live till i'm about 55.

I call people like you sponges. You just soak up everything.
I personally don't go crazy myself but I know what you're talking about. When my friend watches Naruto she flails about, cries, screams, and throws tantrum while she's watching.

sounds hilarious, personally i might let out the occasional gasp or "that was cool," but that's about the extent of it for me

Whatever. I've posted in that thread and this isn;t the same. It's more of a question of how people act and feel when they take in media than a question of the effects of manga and stuff. It's a subtle difference but it's different.

Fine then...I'll leave this thread open and see how it goes.
A just ruler amongst tyrants
I hate it when i become consciously aware of my 'voice' reading it out in my head. It always puts me off a little and makes me feel self-conscious. I don't know if that happens to anyone else.
I 'get really into' anime and video in general, far enough that i feel pangs whenever something bad happens to a character, but not really in manga.

Hmm I get way into the characters... eventually I start thinking like them after awhile... it's kinda creepy. Takes a long sleep for me to get back to normal (in the process I have weird dreams about those characters, sorta like if i was tripping on LSD).

Ah, but i love thinking like a character and acting like them! I've said this b4 in a different forum:
I am Vash the Stampede! All of his worries about death and life, I took them all and made them my own. This is a permanent thing. Who would have thought that a person with a gun would have turned me into a pacifist...
Killing is bad. Life is a gift from god, not to be taken lightly. Do whatever you can to protect others. You may not know them, they may not wish you kindness, but it is still my duty to make sure that you live, even if I cease to in the process.
I like to think I take the best of people and mold it into a human shape.
There has never been one emotional anime or manga that has not made me change my life in some way... 😀

Well sometimes I get really excited when reading a manga to the extent that I suddenly get out of my chair; walk around a few minutes imagining various kinds of plot twists, then get back in my chair and continue reading 😀 (while 'bouncing' my right-knee up & down; left-leg doesn't go that well).
Also I remember watching a very sad anime (Air TV i think) that made me depressed for a whole week. I don't remember eating much after that show...
Annoying plot twists make me a bit aggresive. For example when in a romance manga some sort of love triangle appears... URGH !! Just kill the third wheel already! Die B*tch !! 😛
ps: I think this is a more serious thread too than the other one; that's more of a fun-thread, is it not ? ^.^
