I make my own voices as well, and they're pretty good as long as I don't try to say them out loud with my own voice! Even I sound better in my head than I do in real life! If I see an anime, I'll sometimes try to match the vocals up, but not very often. I do the same thing with novels, although I do like the visual interpretation of how the characters much better sometimes. Besides, if I really like a manga, I'll look for an anime just to hear their voices and see certain scenes acted out 😀

yeah. Particularly when they've got an anime with awesome sarcastic voice actors like Gintama.

It's when you start to hear the soundtrack (or sound effects) in your head you have problems, heh 😀

I don't watch anime anymore, but I do read in the characters voice as I see them. My voices are pretty close sometimes to what they pick in the animes too :3

Not for manga really. I don't really watch enough anime for that to happen. But when I read my friends' comments and statuses on Facebook, in my head it's often their voice that reads it out 🤣

That doesn't happen to me. How sad is that? I wanna experience that as well!

I think why it does not occur to me because of the fact that I only watch the anime of manga I liked. And when I'm done watching, I don't go back to reading the manga.

BUT ME WANT! ME WANT!!

Not for manga, but real books I do. I'm actually quite famous for it when I read books aloud in class - unlike others I do not use the boring monotone. The characters all have different voices, and if the author makes them say something scathingly or happily, I try to make my tone of voice match that. Sometimes I screw it up because its a bit difficult to read ahead while you're reading aloud at the same time (So I can know if they author does like, you know "Riiigggghhht" he said sarcastically), but oh well.
I don't do it only for aloud reading, though. I do that in my head as well.

I do it all the time, reading and text and i say it in a different way for different characters, match their tone of voice and afterwards for a couple of weeks I sometimes say things the characters was or accommodate their words into my every day speech. I am also known in my school library for randomly breaking out in laughter or suddenly talking to myself or having parts of the characters conversations out loud. Allot of the times I don't even watch the anime and i read way to many books to have a social life so heaps of them don't have films made, I make up their voices. I only really watch anime if I can't be bothered clicking the mouse.

I think you'd be a little weird if you didn't make up your own voices for when you're reading say, a novel or a manga. If the author didn't want you read it like that it would all be told in the most linear fashion possible, and there would be no dialogue. or need for exclamation points. It'd be like reading an instruction manual in binary or something. That would make for a shit story.

I do it too...
unfortunately i also do it for the manga's that dont have anime's, and if suddenly it turns into one it's bothering me how the voices wont't match... like me narrating a guy with a voice of a grown man, and then suddenly in the anime he ends up with a weird squicky voice like a kid or a teenager -_-

I guess most people do that, but then are there people who start to say it ALOUD? Ha, btw, I do that too (alone in my room) 😁
