Yea, i know i know, but he did seem a bit more evil than normal, this chapter.

He seemed more relieved to me. I don't know, it was ambiguous about his fate too.

Or maybe they all have a modified copy from when Orochimaru was in the group? Since we know Pain/Pein seems to be able to swap his body and mind with multiple bodies at once. So maybe this Itachi was a double using that method, which is what he talked to Naruto about before hand.

"Hey, Naruto, I am going to let Sasuke kill this body so he can get over his revenge and actually grow without relying on a seal." (Or something)

Also, I am going to avoid reading the next 6-7 chapters, and read it in bulk. I think it will make this next fight more enjoyable. 🙂

And it seems Orochimaru is really dead now. >.< The weakling! D:

Yeah, but that isn't Orochimaru. The real Orochimaru is as far as we know dead.

The Kabuto that posseses Orochimaru genes is a whole new different person. It's kind of like mixing the intelligence of Kabuto with the wide range of jutsus of Orochimaru. The result will probably be a worthy foe. ;D

So, right now, Kabuto and Orochimaru technically don't exist anymore, and it's Kabuchimaru now. =D

im pretty sure itachi's dead... then again if he were a body double he might have just fainted and that's why he didn't revert back to his normal form. its possible that the hosts body could not handle the strain of uchiha power... kinda like kakashi except more severe.

my question is how was the albino snake devoured by fire when amaterasu was not cast a third time? is it possible itachi's only motivation was the purification of sasuke and that was amaterasu's original objective. think about it in the first panel its crawling around flame free and the boom its incinerated. unless it was cast a third time how did that snake catch on fire.

maybe this fight had nothing to do with sasuke and itachi, but rather the atkatsuki extracting revenge on orochimaru.

...but then zetsu seemed ignorant of that

Finally, back to tobi, but i wish they'd get straight to it, i hate how they fight alot before you find out info..

Gah, I thought that chapter was complete BS. (I'm going to attempt to keep my personal bias of Itachi being my favorite character out of this.)
Seriously though, one of the strongest characters in the series is killed that easily? And Sasuke got that strong that fast?
Though, I am considering that Itachi might not REALLY be dead because of how much emphasis that Masashi had Zetsu make on Itachi being dead. Then again, that's probably just me hoping that Itachi's not dead. 😢

I dont really think Sasuke showed himself to be incrediby strong and he sort of won by just being able to hold out longer than Itachi, since if he did die, it was pretty much from the overuse of his Chakra or Sharingan, whichever it was since no specific cause of death was indicated. Also Itachi seemed crazy/desperate enough to pretty much kill himself in such a way, so its not like someone perfectly rational just overused their power and killed themself.

As for my opinion I dont really care if Itachi is dead as long as Sasuke stops acting like an ass and reverts to his "too cool to care" attitude that he had before he left with Orochimaru. If he doesnt change though...then Itachis's death will have been in vain, and that will definitely leave me a bit pissed.

As for looking into the next chapter, I am really glad that Shino is finally (hopefully) going to get the spotlight for at least a chapter or two. I mean he even mentioned his eagerness to participate and the fact that he hasnt been able to fight with them for a long time, so you just know that one of those awesome Shino fights is going to happen.

Also since he fights by having his insects absorb his opponents Chakra, I dont think Tobi will be safe from him just because he seems to be like a ghost, since he clearly has Chakra to be eaten.

My guess as to why Itachi went down goes like this: before he fought Sasuke he decided to try and challenge Madara, Madara pulled out his trick from having the second pair of eyes and whooped Itachi's ass, thus the reason Zetsu was suprised when Itachi went down, he'd be handed his ass earlier. This could also explain the desperation to get Sasuke's eyes, He was not only losing his sight, but also couldn't surpass Madara, whom he called a shell of his former self. He realized just how powerful he could get if he got a second pair of eyes if Madara could still best him in his now "depleted" state. Meh, just a theory but there it is. That said I'm REALLY looking forward to Shino's fight this should be pretty good.
