honestly the best thing to talk about is to talk about controversial topics because you can find alot of arguments for and against them easily such as abortion, or marijuana, alcoholism (is it a disease or a addiction), euthanasia, global warming (although i think this one is to easy and should be avoided), electroshock therapy, U.S. involvement internationally (policies)

Try this topic:
Education in America/Europe and Asia, different on approaches, focus and characteristics of education.
Since it's school paper, this one can relate nicely to it's education, many documents on these matters and you can see it from many angles (can compare which one better, which one gives more result, emphasis on each method, and you can even pick africa instead of asia, this is a starter topic which you can relate to social demographic condition, cultures, and most debatable characters of people which went to each systems, all in all an endless topic and no absolute wrong or right)
Need a loving and lovely tsundere wife, anyone interested? >.<
On second thought yandere would also be fine.... O.O

Are animated movies just for kids? OR- Are animated movies not given enough credit in the movie industry? You could go either pro or con- I guess it's not related to graphic novels/manga, but it's animated movies! It's not that far off, is it?
I think there's plenty of evidence to back this up- for example, only three animated movies have been nominated for Academy Award Best Picture so far, and none has won- and Toy Story 3's not going to win this year, despite all the critical praise it's been getting. Why? The Academy Awards doesn't like giving comedies or/and animated movies the Best Picture Award. They like givining it to the dramatic, older audience film. Most animated movies are too "happy" or aimed towards a broader audience to fit the winning Best Picture catagory (I'm betting on 'King's Speech' winning this year-)... Animated movies are definately not given enough credit, and you can back this up with articles, books, documentaries, etc... just takes a bit of research. Toy Story 3 was an amaaazing movie by the way, it was simply amaaazing.
