According to the Chinese zodiac I'm metal/air. According to the greek zodiac, I'm air. For practical combat though, I like fire.

Hmm kind of a tough one
Fire would innately be the strongest of the four basic elements seeing as it would include plasma and other things that are superheated.
Void is more a lack of mater then an element so while it would certainly defeat anything that is mater based like the four basic ones it would not necessarily win against metal or dark.
Dark again is more a lack of light more then a presence of darkness. I guess you could use a notion that void and dark are a force in your imaginative universe but if we base it on ours it is not. If we base it on the popular element based universes then it is a tossup, more so for void. Dark is usually portrayed to be associated with evil or undead in the popular universes.
Metal and Wood are usually considered polar opposites another way to say it would be man-made vs nature-made.
Light is another one that is difficult to define. Using our universe as a model light is more based on matter and is closely tied to fire. It really is best described as being a high energy state matter. Now using some of the popular universes as a model it is also anti-dark this is true for any and all universes but with the popular ones it means more then it does in ours. Anti-dark also means anti-undead or anti-evil. The anti-evil is not always the case but it goes to say that in most universes for the hero or heroine dark based weapons are useless and light based weapons are usually the best overall.

I will vote for fire because fire is life and death, the action of excited molecules and is ordered chaos. It is the method most common in entropy and is the most useful in survival situations baring the need for water.

i'm earth in every zodiac i ever heard of, and that suits me well. i like water better from a distance and everything else is something i like to work with, not be. (except void. wtf. 😁 ) archaeology and mudfights are equally great.

I'm wood as in the Chinese Horoscope. While ALL the quizz I've been doing stated out that I'm water. I bet the later suit me better as it considered my personality 😛

based on my zodiac i'm water

my personality actually kind of match my zodiak character

i like water as they are calming and beautiful
if i could pick element in game,i usually pick water

My element of choice is Earth for it's stability and consistentcy. I receive dark or earth when I take element quizzes.

I like earth!! I have always liked the earth element! My favorite color is green so that might have something to do with it. LOL because of this thread I found out my element sign is Earth. Heehee. 😛
