What happens if I take a plane to New Zealand and arrive there 7 pm local time?
Either they pick you off the plane, or you become one of the last men/women/alien alive! If it's the former, too bad. If it's the latter.... you get the dirft 😀
There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

I actually talked to a close confidant of him about his prediction in 1994 and the person said Mr Camping "misjudged" a Bible verse (referring to the book of Mathews) where it says that rapture can happen sooner if world gone worse or sth like that (refering to homosexuality in the US in particular).
I'm not that knowledgeable about the Bible so you may want to read the book yourself and get the exact quote. Mr Camping wrote a book titled "1994?" with a question mark which means he's not exactly sure but is close to believing that there may be a great chance for the Judgment Day to come sooner on 1994 (which didn't happen). I never heard of this date or this guy until I read this topic... but, this guy is basing this date off of the Bible? And off of the book of Matthews?? But isn't there an entire section in that very book devoted to saying that it's impossible to know the date?
Yeah, here it is (Matthew ch 24): 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away; so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Therefore keep watch, for you do not know what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore be always ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
Maybe this dude skipped that part...

Edit: No one in my country knows about this doomsday, so I dont know how it will happen
It depends. If you fly towards the Light of Judgment, you'll be abducted by Heaven. If you're flying away from it to arrive at New Zealand, then I guess it might be possible to avoid the Light. I don't know.
That is creative though. If our friends in Asia stop responding to us, then let's all get on a plane to New Zealand. I have the plan.
We designate a few fall guys in Asia (East Asia, Australia, New Zealand -- all of which will be hit first). They will let us know if they have not been abducted. If we get no response from them after 6pm (their local time), then we can safely assume that the Rapture is upon us.
We then all book emergency flights to the post-Apocalyptic New Zealand and start a new civilization. We can live the rest of our lives in glorious Sin. Sure, being taken to Heaven would be better, but who are we kidding? We're all terrible sinners who'll burn in Hell if we get hit by the Light of Judgment.

Well, the bible says plenty of things.
Like the earth is flat, shellfish are abominations, you can't eat figs (I hate figs anyway), women and children are equal to cattle, etc, etc.
So this is going on the huge list of "things the bible claims, that are false and/or effing stupid."
Even if this stupid prediction turns out to be true, we'd have ourselves a badass zombie apocalypse.
And no way am I going to turn to god at the last minute. If christianity turns out to be the absolute truth, I don't even wanna go to heaven, all the interesting people are in hell.
Do but despise reason and science,
The highest of all human gifts -
Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe

I know... i agree that it's impossible and the Bible does say that there will be many false prophets claiming to be the He!
But again, according to the guy's confidant, it's possible to know if you're knowledgeable enough about the Bible and this guy knows Bible more than most of us or so his confidant said. They use Jewish calendar (which they say closest to God's calendar.... hey... I don't know if God has a calendar XD) and again like what's said in those websites floating around the cyber world, 7,000 years from when the flood happened, we gonna be having another one. This time, he said, an earthquake and misery for the non-believers before finally the world will totally end (I think 3 months after the Rapture happen but my memory fails me since it's still really early in the morning)
I don't know that the story's gonna be this big. I thought it's gonna be the same old same old judgment day predictions. Apparently the guy put up 5,000 billboards all over the world. Wow dude, think about how many hungry children you can feed with that!!
well its already the 21st asia and no sign of of doomsday yet.
You'll need to wait another 16 hours or so.
Doomsday comes at May 21st at 6pm specifically.
Western U.S. time? >:I
Local time. It starts in New Zealand's 6pm. This means that different people will be abducted by Heaven at different absolute points of time. West Coast US folks will be some of the last to go.
Oh joy. O:
And what do you mean Heaven? Hell's going to be crowded. :I

Honestly, I wonder who taught God 'time'. I mean, time as a quatifiable value is a human assumption and is very relative. We percieve time in our own unique ways, as humans and as seperate human beings. All the ways that we use to count seconds and so on are affected by many things, that simple space travel changes it's value. And to someone who is supposed to have created the entire world in six-seven 'days' - again an assumption of God following human time - does time really matter?
Mind you, I might be wrong. The research into time is a very broad field and we know basically nada about most of it. And I'm no expert either 🤣

Quote from The Guy

The way Heaven is traditionally advertised, I'm not sure I would like it. Taking one of the the most popular/famous descriptions of Heaven/Hell, The Divine Comedy,
we have Heaven, where people don't have a purpose aside from getting closer and closer to God. Once they reach Him, they are either spending every second admiring him and basking in His Glory, and eventually are subsumed by his splendor. Effectively, they lose their identity and individuality. That's how I saw it.
Then we have Hell on the other side, where there are actually rather pleasant places to be, like the First and Second Circle. Places where I'm likely to go. In the first circle, I just chill out with a bunch of guiltless, damned intellectuals and we pass our time there in an "imperfect Heaven". I don't want perfection anyway.
In the second circle, I'd be guilty of lust, and I'd pass my time in the arms of my beloved and get blown around by harsh winds. 🤨 Sounds a lot less punishing than becoming becoming mindlessly doped by the glory of Heaven.
You even see the same kinds of depictions in anime. In Evangelion, the endpoint of human Instrumentality was so that humans would lose their identities as they merged with Heaven.
I kind of like being stuck in the Mortal Coil with all my flaws that distinguish me from others.

Well, if almost everyone is going to Hell, then that's where I'd like to be. I'm a social guy. I like talking to people, and it would be boring for me hanging with the few people in Heaven especially if they didn't feel the same way I did on this matter.
I could never sympathize with the mother in the following story that told her daughter that she wouldn't make it to Heaven.

I'd rather be hanging out and partying with you and your mother in Hell. 🙂

If everyone has a soul and this soul goes to hell/heaven when the person dies and stays there forever, you can be sure 6 Billion people will be nothing to a place holding thousands of years of human souls

I was joking.
I'm not sure, but as a Christian (the assumption of Doomsday being May 21st is based off the bible), I am fearing it. But I feel like its not going to happen since there are no symptoms (yet) of the world ending...

May 21st isn't based off the bible.
the guy just went and took a few random dates and numbers and mathed them together (thru in a random 2 as well to make it work)
and made May 21st the day.
yeah he started with the bible, but its silly. and without the random 2 it would have happened like 1000 years ago.

Well, I think you sort of got what I meant by "based off the bible", I hope. _

Relax everyone.
Friends in New Zealand and Asia have informed me that they are still alive and well. The Time of Rapture has come and gone with no ill effects on humanity. God has shown us his infinite mercy once again.
