Everyone's boring occasionally, but it seems there are "symptoms" that make you more susceptible to be boring.
This was a university study, by the way. :]

1. Complaining about your own problems – health, finances, relationships, job, etc. – and not being interested in those of others.

2. Talking constantly about trivial things, always including unimportant details and repeating the same tired jokes.

3. Showing no emotions, failing to make eye contact and talking in a monotone.

4. Seriousness. If you never smile, joke or make light of things, you’re boring.

5. Tediousness. People will find you boring if you talk too slowly or take too long to respond or make a point.

6. Low participation. You’re a bore if you never join in a conversation and always go along passively with whatever is being said.

7. Distracting behavior. If you get excited too easily or tend to use a lot of slang such as “Hey, man” or “You know,” you’re a bore.

8. Self-centeredness – continually talking about your own life, experiences and interests.

9. Trying very hard to be nice and make a good impression in order to gain approval is boring.

So, do you view yourself as boring? 😮 Do you easily find other people boring? Did you make any attempts to make yourself less boring? :3 Etcetera. Tell us mooo~re.

I think I'm in the "talking constantly about trivial things" group.

I really feel like I'm boring when I'm bored. 😐 Go figure.

Especially when talking to strangers, or people I don't know too well. Awkward attempts at conversations leads to nothing.

Wow. I know someone that fits each of these.

And I only fit into one of them, the last one. Maybe not completely, though. I don't give a crap what people think of me, but I've always gotten confidence from someone else's appreciation/approval, and I seek it too. Without it, I can't exactly pat myself on the back. Perhaps pathetic and sad, but not boring. 😐

According to that I'm kinda boring since I talk a lot of crap at times but being serious all the time is no fun and most of my crap is banter. I do admit that I can include unneccesary details and take far too long to tell a story at times. My parents say I sometimes retell things in real time so I guess I can be boring but I find myself not caring for some reason.

I don't think I fit any of those, but would a person be able to see that in themselves 😕

This pretty much describes my entire being.
When I see most people, I would compare their intelligence to that of a rock, however I find that insulting to the rock.

I have a tendency towards numbers 3 and 6. My voice has emotional emphasis, and I try to make eye contact, but many people find me to be emotionless and cold. That's probably no surprise.

Though I'm much more inclined to participate on the internet, in real life conversations I often have trouble organizing my thoughts. It mostly occurs when I'm pulling a number nine during a first impression, so it wears away as I get to know people.

That's how I am. Although I don't repeat the same jokes, I like to talk about trivial and random matters. Some random things are just noticed by me, and it's my job to point them out. :3

I'm also really bad with making the conversation in a circle of people. I just let them talk on, I'll listen. So I'm more of the friend of the boring person, than the borer (hopefully).

This is all I fit. I dont use slang but I always have weird words or phrases I pick up from movies or other people and repeat unconrollably haha. And I get excited very easily so I guess in that sense I'm a bore. 😀

Quote from Dr. Love

1. Complaining about your own problems – health, finances, relationships, job, etc. – and not being interested in those of others.

8. Self-centeredness – continually talking about your own life, experiences and interests.

9. Trying very hard to be nice and make a good impression in order to gain approval is boring.

  1. I never complain about finances but my friends say I'm a bit annoying to talk to about relationships so they just never bother to bring up the topic. My friends have tried to set me up with a few people but women who like to party and get drunk don't impress me much.

  2. This is actually not my fault, since I'm from Thailand and most people I interact with are from the UK. They are fascinated by the minor details of my culture and life in general. A simple fact such as your values can make for a very interesting conversation when they seem so bizarre and different.

  3. I'm too nice of a person, I generally always come off that way. I don't really know why it is kinda of annoying, my friends always say that I'm too nice and most women walk over me. I'm use to being taken advantage for by being nice, it has come to a point where I've become a lot more reluctant to help others, then I don't get the attention anymore. Maybe being nice was all I had going for me and as soon as I stopped people just generally lost interesting in talking to me. But fuck those people I don't need them.

I've never met someone I found boring. I've met plentitudes of annoying people, but there's too much to know about a person for anyone to really be boring.
