Oh, the irony. I actually found myself in this conversation in my english class the other day.
Basically, I didn't have cable in the 90s...didn't really get it until probably 1998ish. And when I did get it, the only thing I ever watched was TVLand (until the started showing nothing but westerns). So...neither? Sure, there's a few shows I'll watch when they're on (from both the 90s and the 2000s) but I find most TV pointless and unamusing. Personally, I think the 90s are winning simply because everyone forgot the bad shows and only remembers to good ones (why remember the bad ones?), not that I blame them.

2000's are better.

Saying the 1990s/past is better is like saying that humanity's taste in things are getting worse. We got better graphical effects, cooler 'realistic' action, and better camera/voice coordination.

Sure, there are some TV shows that are legendary or too perfect, but lets face it - if TV producers were to do those masterpieces again, it would be done better because the helps us to improve the future (past mistakes).

I feel a little sad that all those fun adventure series from the 90s like
Xena,Hercules,Sinbad,robin hood[maybe buffy] ASO are no more

what we have instead are oversexual garbage like Spartacus,Rome,game of thrones ASO that dont really give us fun entertainment but crude sex and uber violence

wrestling used to be awesome
what do we have now? 55clone wrestlers...not1 of them can act and none of them can make one wrestle move
and we have to pay extra to be able to see the few good matches coz...thats fair i guess?

Why do you think most shows suck noawdays? People think that special effects are what define a show but in reality if a plot isn't good it will become unbearable to watch soon after a few episodes.

Think about manga for example. How many series do you remember that can make it through into success, with art alone?

Another example is hollywood movies and the lack of quality in the latest years. Sure, you get 1 or 2 great movies and 5 or 6 good movies per year, but the rest is pretty lame if you ask me. Again, the directors think that all it take is special effects to make a good movie and people started realizing they actually want something more besides that... And usually that means they want a good plot to go along with those special effects..

As for the poll I vote 1990's just because back then we weren't bombarded with all the reality shows crap that seems to have been widespread during the 2000's decade...

As for this part I don't know the reason why you are so sure about this... Take the movie remakes for example. Some were well made and others were complete garbage.

Also, you can't compare something that was made in the past to something that was made nowadays. Why? Because when they were made they were groundbreaking and that's also part of their success. The hardest part is getting those great ideas that made the show good.

Just a simple, mathematically perfect equation.

Evangelion, dbz, yuyu hakusho, cowboy bebop(actually I'm not to sure if this was 90s or early 2000s hard to remember x.x).... just with that lineup its hard to lose even without considering the absolute crap that is most TV post 2000. Unfortunately the us was/is very limited on channels that play such amazing shows ;-;. BTW I'd say southpark and family guy are together. Futurama is just below, and Simpsons are just below that.... so not a big simp fan.

Also as a counter for the idea that better graphics and special effects make it better. I have just two words that prove otherwise.... Michael Bay.

Would probably be true if people actually çared about making the show better, but they get so hung up in making sure it adapts to fit current tastes that they kill it. Thus some mutant turtles become aliens, and everyone in initial d talks like a tard(in reference to tokyopops dub.. idk if it was fixed or not by funi).

Depends where you live, no? 90s for me. I rarely watch television nowadays.

90's for me. I could actually do zapping and find several things that I wanted to keep on watching. Now you do zapping and it's reality tv, sex, cartoons with adult jokes, stylish kids, shows that think that in order to shock you they need to show everything... and then more reality tv.

The good series from the 2000's I watch them online.

I don't even own a tv anymore, that'd be a waste of space.

Hm... I'd surely choose the 90's. I have good memories of it, since I was a child at that time.
Here in Brazil we had some animes being broadcasted in TV in the 90's, like Saint Seya, Shurato and Yu yu Hakusho.
Shows for children were also memorable... I remember one called TV Colosso, because dogs presented it!
But I can't remember many things beside what I watched when I was younger... I actually remember some brazilian musicians that appeared a lot at TV and still are very popular until nowadays, although some of them have died already.

I prefer the 90's.

I loved toonami so much. I sadly saw the gradual decline of Cartoon Network, it went from every weekday afternoon to Saturday evening to nothing at all 😢 . Most other channels went through a similar downward spiral.

Of course there are some things that I like (for example: Bones and House) but that's about it. I haven't touched the remote in over 6 months.

By the way, a train robbery means... come to the destination by train, then commit a robbery... then jump on a train and run. Or something like that, right?

This is perfect example of how much kids shows suck now.

As some one who grow up watching Thundercats, i felt like puking when i tried to watch that crap out of nostalgia for the old one.

In the other hand there are some great sitcoms and dramas that we own to the 2000', but lately i seem to be hating most of the new shows that come out, it could be that i'm not that much into t.v. anyway.

early 2000s for me. i don't remember 1990s tv since i was only 5 and younger during the 1990s.but im sure most of the stuff i watched started in the 1990s?.. 😕
