Bread and jelly/jam or peanut butter. Plain rice with ponzu. Any sort of egg dish, rice and beans, simple tacos, etc. Cheap food is easy when you know how to cook.

ramen is really the way to go. cabbage is dirt cheap too and you can do a lot with it.
