Sherlock Holmes...
Though it's kind of hard to measure up against dead people..

Screw L, Light, Conan and all those other "manga" detectives. Go with the classics! Sherlock Holmes ftw 😛

Every single detective in modern media is based off of Sherlock Holmes.

Definitely L from Death Note, as people previously mentioned. He was always really sharp with small details and he had a unique perspective on things. Too bad that wasn't a specific poll choice.

L - a detective, a profiler, and a mind player

(As a pure detective, my personal preference would be Hajime Kindaichi).

I'll have to say L too. Too bad that he's not on the list. But if you haven't read Death Note, then I don't blame you at all. Otherwise...

For me it's between Edogawa Conan and **Ayumu Narumi **(NOT to be confused with Kiyotaka Narumi, the elder brother).
leaning more toward Ayumu because...

if you read the manga you'll know he's not the little brother of kiyotaka but his twin brother. Meaning he'll be just as smart and is actually proving it while people just "beleive" every little thing that happened was due to Kiyotaka. So far only 1 case solved by Kiyotaka is confirmed to his lines of reasoning, courtesy of his wife.

Q (Kyu) from detective academy Q is **2nd rate **in my opinion. Saw the first episode, and his so called deductive reasoning & evidence to catch the suspect was circumstantial at best. It could only place him at the scene of the crime. If the criminal didn't come back and confess then Q wouldn't have got any props for solving the crime.

Willing to move him up to the upper echelon if someone can vouch for this being an off day in the world of Q.

L from DN, of course.

though I guess Light sort of got the better of him when he manipulated Rem to kill him. but L knew Light was Kira from the moment he met him; it was just a matter of proving it. and that's pretty damn smart.

I was going to give my vote of "Other" to Sherlock Holmes, but decided against it in favor of giving it to Mycroft Holmes.

Seeing as this is in the Manga Section and not the Chatter Box. I don't think we should be including characters like Sherlock Holmes in this discussion...

I'm not sure about smartest but Neuro is probably the best. By that I mean if they were all given the same case to solve Neuro would probably solve it first because he's a huge cheater.
