Conan, cuz he's got all the cool gadgets and he pulls the wool over everyone's eyes. It only works because everyone's so stupid though.

For me it is Light from Death Note. Although he got owned at the end.
L is about the same, i think he just had "bad luck" thats why he died (who would have expected shinigami to really exist!?)

Going to have to agree with everyone else. L without a doubt is the smartest in my opinion

Call me a lone wolf but I really like Kindaichi. I wish they'd sub the rest of the anime, it was really good.

Does Phoenix Wright count? Although he's a lawyer, he's practically a Sherlock Holmes on the scene.

Yagami Light but he's not a detective, so I gotta say L then!

Screw L, Light, Conan and all those other "manga" detectives. Go with the classics! Sherlock Holmes ftw 😛

L, as for me.

I still can't believe that Near (and Mello, hum) turned out to be better than L. Impossibility! They couldn't, simply couldn't be better than L! Boo hoo.

I'm not kidding smartest is definetly Sherlock Holmes, his power of logic and reason are amazing if you've ever read any of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes short stories or novellas.
