For me wish and goal are very different words. A wish is something that you truly desire, meaning that it is something that you probably won't fulfill. A goal is the objective on your future, something possible and something that you can actually achieve if you work hard towards it. Sometimes there are people who have something that is a wish and a goal at the same time and that's very good, because it means that you're struggling to become what you truly desire.
In my case I'm not so lucky. I'm not particularly talented in anything so I couldn't possibly follow any wish. My goal is to become a lawyer for a company with a steady income, it probably won't make me rich but it'll allow me to live in my own house and pay my own bills, after that continue living the same thing day by day until the end. It may sound boring but it's the only possible future I can imagine. My wish though is very different. I wish I could be a writer. I love writing and all that it entails but unfortunately in my country only one or two extremely talented writers actually manage to live off the profession and even they don't get rich or anything.
But oh well that's life. You can never get what you truly want, because true happiness is unreachable and impossible.

Wow. I'm surprise to find so many people answering are within their high school years. It's just a comment, nothing against you guys. xD
It's true, wish and goal are different.
My goal (present): Shadow a doctor around and get into med school.
My goal (future): Be a pediatrician and join a non-profit organization.
My wish (present): Live at least another ten years and find some nice guy somewhere. 😳
My wish (future): I want to travel all over the world. dreaming in dream land and adopt some kids who has a potential futures. 🤣 Oh I want to collect a big big big giant manga/novels library. 😲
No kids for me sir.

I don't know why this ended up in the Adult 18+ section - most of your hopes and dreams are so cute and adorable ^^ since this thread started some 4 years ago I'm certain some of the goals have been met. thought maybe i could offer some advice on common goals i read though:
-Losing Virginity, thread starter: I wouldn't prioritize this as a goal. Most people I know regret their first experience - find someone you seriously have feelings for, and make your want of love a higher priority. Cause it's not hard to stick your penis in someone...
-Good grades/schools/academics/etc: all it takes is a dedication and focus, the grades will come - take as many college courses as you can before college and don't prioritize your first few years of university - i'm fairly fresh out of the world traveling and university experience to help with any PM questions (at least for North American students). The first 2 years of core academic classes are the same whether you take them at a local college or an IV league school, unless you are applying for a special program that can't be transferred into - you are wasting very much money for the "dorm" experience - remember education is an investment, and like any investment should be planned and researched, not forced on you (mediate on what it is you actually want to do in life or explore a little to find out)
-Desire to Travel: consider working maybe as a Merchant Sailor, enlistment, or developing your credentials in a trade/industry/or as a professional specialist - no body tells young people this but in many fields some technicians, scientist, engineers, and even fiscal specialist are paid to travel quite a bit
-Wealth, getting rich, etc: In all honesty seems to take a combination of luck, research, and comprehension. For young people, being more attentive and learning about what is going on in world economies right now will be a HUGE step in the direction of you becoming rich and don't fall into the trap of thinking one philosophy is the only truth For starters, should learn about competing currencies, globalization trends, developing economies, consumer driven markets. 🙂 interestingly enough one story I read Spice and Wolf includes alot of base economic concepts embedded into the tale.
working on this myself, ^^ but it's often more about how much of your earnings you save, or learn to use, rather than what you actually earn - learn to live in "noble poverty" even if you get wealthy if you intend to stay that way
-Kids: I'm very surprised how many responders don't want children. lol, for some responders if kids are so bad imagine how your parents must feel - for others who said kids aren't adorable... was helping to take care of my baby niece this week (you are dead wrong) Babies are super adorable 🙂 even when she spit up her milk it was super cute - when you actually hold a baby you may few differently. At some point in life we all pooped our pants, someday you'll learn and appreciate getting over the changing diaper phobia.
PRESENT: High market volatility right now - markets are a good lows for buy ins and companies plus high yield investors are sitting at historic mountains of capital, I hope my gambles/investments work out. 😁
FUTURE: To be able to start a foundation that runs orphanages and provides free education and health benefits to children in need.

i use to have the same goals 😉 so happy to see other ambitious young people nowadays
i realized though that living in a free country, pretty much means we are essentially entitled to all the world already, just have to learn how to use our inheritance 😛

I couldn't agree more. We have so much more chances and opened doors than others living in other countries, especially those from restrictive societies. Utilize all that we can since we only have one life. Personal experience and thought, nothing more. 🤣
