I've got a goal that is also one of my fears.
It would be neat to die young so I wouldn't need
to cough out gall and stuff. I've never had a goal
I wouldn't want to complete. o.o

Same idea crossed my mind. But i found a solution. Cyborg.

Er, why is this post in the 18+ section? Is someone's greatest wish or goal particularly hentai? 😀

Well, I'm working on my PhD thesis right now, so obviously my goal is to finish it with flying colors. I really love doing research, so hopefully I'll get a job teaching at a university after I'm finished with my thesis. I've already tutored undergraduate students at my university, anyway...

I'd also like to recover from my psychiatric problems. I have Schizoaffective Disorder, which means that I go slightly bonkers at regular intervals. (Nothing violent or aggressive; I just get paranoid and spacey.) It's very frustrating, and it interferes with my desire to lead a normal life.

That said, I'm actually quite happy with my life. Even my experiences with mental illness, harrowing as they've been, have taught me more about myself and about other people. I've learned to treasure my loved ones, and to be more open-minded in my dealings with the world.

All in all, not a bad thing. 🙂

So yeah, my goals would be to finish my thesis, and to finally be able to get off meds.

AND OF COURSE TO FINISH READING CLAYMORE. Omg, yes, that's my biggest goal of all!

This is a tough one for me right now, since I'm not feeling very optimistic about the future. I've been writing since I was a kid and wanted to either make a living through writing or be able to reach people's hearts with it. I also wanted to travel, teaching in various countries, and to complete my Masters or PhD degree. However, extreme health problems in the past few years have prevented anything except for day-to-day living, hanging on by my fingertips. Hopefully surgery at the end of the month will help! I'm actually looking forward to it! 😛

On a positive note, I've been able to achieve a number of goals already. I was able to finish my Bachelors Degree. And I traveled around the U.S. performing a comedy show at Renaissance Festivals (and living in a tent).

So I'll just have to be satisfied with those for now! 😀

I just want to go out into the world and live on my own two feet.

But I also want a Ph.D and a good job. Plus to enjoy my life along the way, if that's possible.

I wanna buy a house and work for an Anime or Manga company. I've already worked for an action figure company and a videogame company, so, if I can work for Anime/manga company I can finally go back to my parents and all my teachers tell them "I told you I could do it!" They used to tell me "You can't get a job playing video games", or you can't get a job watching cartoons all day", and "You have to study instead of playing with toys".

hahahahaha!!! I am 2/3 complete proving everybody wrong!!!!!

How old are you Daed? When I was in school (high school) I couldn't wait to get out. Then when I realized I had to work through college and work for the rest of my life 😲 I wished I could go back again.

I have friends from college who stayed in and got all the PhD or Masters and now are research professors. Staying in school is fun if you like that sort of thing. We used to call people like that "NUKES" as in Nuclear Scientist. Prolly can't function in the real world and need the structure of institutional learning facility. But hey....someone's gotta do it!

Good luck with that!

@vinceasuma: what game company? biggrin

Can't really say cuz I may get in trouble with those companies, but I can say:
Was at very big game publisher for a bit as a tester (Weak!!!).
Then went on to another company to make Plug n' Play games. You may or may not have played the ones I worked on - Pac Man, Dragon Ball Z, Avatar the AirBender. The games were terrible 8bits with weird J-stick controllers, but hey! I made video games! My childhood fantasy come true! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Now I work for a Peripheral company and make Joysticks and accessories for all the new systems. It's cool cuz they buy me all the latest games and systems to take home and familiarize!

But why you wanna work at Gamestop? Retail sucks!! if you live near LA there are a lot of publishers and developers looking for testers( a great way to get into the industry and move up to better jobs)! PM me if you want details.

If your gonna go for something self righteous than i think youve been temporarily blinded by your own arrogance its instinct to act selfishly and youll probibly concsiously or unsciously regret it later so for me i would want either pyschic powers that stopped time and could create any women i could imagine to appear out of thin air having them think do and say anything i fancied or i would want to become incredible in any physical or mental activity that i wished

shallow? not neccasarily because i think yes men and women instant gratifacation would become a lot simpler the only draw back addiction
