I'm looking for a story about a smart main character whose everyday life is boring. About 70% of the text is just their thoughts. They don't know what they want to do in life, or what they want. Simply just "I don't know." Preferred if they don't have many friends. I'm okay with romance if it's subtle and doesn't really dominate the entire story.

No hentai or any of that flashy stuff please, or any ai's

a true slice of life. It has depth and overall I found it to be pretty good.

For this love of god this. Kurosawa is a masterpiece.

Yes, Onani Master Kurosawa definitely. The story is amazing as it is touching, and the character growths are very dramatic but also very realistic. Despite it's somewhat disturbing themes (its a psychological so expect it), they only contribute more to the story and are not just thrown in there for fanservice. I highly recommend it.
