Naruto MMORPG

The problem with all new MMO's is that WoW players especially ( not meant as an insult ) start saying - "Whoa What a rip-off" before they even actually feel the game hands-on. I can understand that WoW changed the way MMO's used to be but please at least give new games a breather. Not only in MMO's but even in RTS, things like - What a StarCraft Rip-off.
The current MMO that I am waiting for is WAR.( WarHammer Online )
Pokemon I can but I still can't gasp the concept of a Naruto MMO. -_-"

The PROBLEM is how ridiculous all these things are if made into an MMO. The DBZ mmo already looks crappy. HOWEVER I am a proponent of a POKEMON MMO. That would be EPIC.
Definitely would be.

well WoW is just another ripoff too s i don't understand why they say that.
Everquest anyone hehe...
Well apart from my dark desire to show off above, i agree with the statement that at alot of mmos right now are clones.
Well in my opinion its the mouse and keyboards fault.

weirdly their already is a pokemon mmorpg but it is gay and i mean gay the lag is horrible and it practically destroyed my image of pokemon. but as for a pokemon mmo i want to see a real time 3-D fighting version of the pokemon for a console. something that is not a turnbased game but button mashing craziness that has a plot to it.
Yes a naruto mmorpg would be cool only if it had a battle system like lunia except actually 3-D.
hmm while we're at it i wonder how a bleach mmo would be

On what basis do you say that WoW is a ripoff of Everquest? They follow the same basic formula, but the way the games play is fundamentally different. Besides, you can't really call something a ripoff if it's surpassed the original model and become the new standard for the industry. At worst, you can call that a successor.
I agree, however, with whoever it was that questioned whether a well-known license has ever made a game any better. A Naruto license would probably be needed to call attention to and sell the game, but they should focus on developing a new combat and gameplay system - one that can support the Naruto universe while competing with (and substantially differing from) the WoW model. None of the MMOs that more or less followed the WoW model have been able to make a dent in WoW's customer base.

Not a big fan of Naruto, but the games are actually quite good. A Naruto mmorpg would actually be pretty intresting. Yeah, I'd give $50 to try it out. 😎

A Naruto MMO would be hard to pull off. You'd need controls that could change with the scope of battles. Some fights are totally hand to hand (ie fighting game) and other are close but not too close (like a 3rd person action game). Some moves, like M Sharringan, deal with time manipulation and illusions. Not to mention fights can scale from simple two people to like Kyuubi vs Orochimaru fights that are clearing out acres of land with single moves.
Fake bodies and clones... you could do all this stuff but it'd take alot of coding and a significant investment to really emulate how the show is. I'd buy it if they pulled it off right.

lol i think i'd play it just cause i think the way naruto has set up its world is pretty cool with the different types of jutsu and whatnot. and the missions would probably be alot better than the missions given in other MMORPGs
also it would be even cooler if there were the rebel groups like akatsuki or elite groups like ANBU
and the tailed beasts could be your bonus bosses or something like that

I just can't stand the idea of a anime/manga based MMO. I shudder at the cellshaded graphics and cheesy dubs.

they don't have to be dubbed. there are games where they use a japanese voice cast.
a naruto mmorpg would definitely be worth checking out, but i would never pay $50 a day for a game.... unless i win the lottery.

Neither would anyone else, I'd imagine. The $50 would be for the initial purchase of the game. MMO monthly fees are usually around $15 per month.
Also, a Naruto MMO probably wouldn't have cameos from every single Naruto character, especially considering the manga isn't finished. Maybe one or two characters, like Iruka - every other character would be an original voice.
