They're not my absolute fave either.... but it's the first time I'm hearing of someone hating them.
I don't think they'll ever better their first album, Parachutes. I think it epitomizes the 'Simplicity is Beautiful' theory.
Aho, try 'Sparks' or 'Spies'..... there also a track called 'For You'... but it's only available on the Japanese release of Parachutes as a bonus track (why does Japan get all the special bonus tracks?)
If, you don't like those, then you'll probably not like Coldplay.

I was taken back with a few of the names that came up, in particular Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. Now, I'm not criticizing, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I've just never heard anyone say they hate these bands. Maybe not like them, or not a big fan, but they usually get the respect they deserve (btw, I'm not a big AC/DC fan).
Anyway, it seems that a lot of people already mentioned a lot of the artists I hate. In particular Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and others. I hate close to all new mainstream rock (pretty much anything on the radio). In particular all the so-called "emo" bands (I know what emo is, but the genre has changed to cover a lot of bands that aren't emo, like A Simple Plan). I heard at least 4 different bands that have songs that sound almost exactly the same. And the songs aren't that good. I'm not saying only classic rock is good, but there are Indie (Indie as in independent of a record label) rock bands out there that do not get the recognition they deserve because they don't follow the music industry's formula.

Rappers that only talk about their rims (or worse, shoes) and other materialistic possessions, the number of women they have sex with, and only have such a limited vocabulary that they curse every other word. I can't stand those types of rappers. I know that if you go clubbing with your friends or you girl, that's the music they'll play, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I absolutely can not listen to that music for the sake of only listening to it. There's some good hip-hop out there (like someone mentioned, Common), but these other rappers that take up a majority of the radio time just gives it a bad name (like most mainstream rock gives rock a bad name).
Reggaeton. The worse music ever created. I know this might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I really hate it. Again, you go to a club and they will play this music. That's fine. Dance to the music, but I can not listen to it for enjoyment.

yep, the strokes suck, but MCR is tolerable in small doses. If those doses are from there last album.

I remember seeing Rihanna singing live at some MTV thing and she was walking on these tables, I looked at her legs and all I could think was "Did her legs look that fat and ugly in all her videos?" and then I thought "Wow computers can really do some amazing things" 😛
Few bands I cannot stand... there is a lot more though 😛
Nirvana (Legions of annoying fans, all under the age of 16)
MCR and any other pop-punk/emo band.
Eminem (He only has 2 song types funny and overly emotional)
Radiohead (again fans mainly)

Not a fan of most rap music... but the one I absolutely CANNOT stand is... Soulja Boy. For polluting the airwaves with such retarded crap, he should be tied naked on top an ant hill covered with honey!! Let the ants bite him to death slowly... and painfully... yes... 😃

Garage rock is an acquired taste I guess. The entire Is This It album is pretty good, but My Chemical Romance is gut wrenching to me. Worse than later Green Day.
