Oh wow, this is such a great topic. I love cake!! And I'd never heard of Fun Fun Factory... now I want to try that one out too.
I thought long and hard so that I could contribute something to this topic. A Love For Sweet Things is a short series (1 volume?) that deals with sweets and a bakery. It's cute and... sweet 😀
[edit] Oops, I was wrong. It's apparently 3 volumes, but only the first three chapters were ever translated. Still, they're worth a read!

I don't know if it's really cake because I haven't read it, but it's like baking and stuff. I don't think it's shoujo, but I think it has romance. It's called Yakitate!! Japan. It's about baking and bread and stuff like that. If you want shoujo, I think Kitchen Princess would be good.

No cake, Yakitate is basically about bread and pastries. And it's shounen. It doesn't really have any romance throughout the manga, at least with what's been scanlated there hasn't been any.
