Good Smooth Jazz? Does that exist?

If you want good jazz, try some Lester Young, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Charles Mingus, George Benson, Sonny Rollins, Wes Montgomery, etc.

Some good albums to get are Giant Steps, A Love Supreme, Kind of Blue, Brilliant Corners, Milestones, The Birth of Cool, Time Out, The Complete Dizzy Gillespie, Bitches Brew(Not for N00bz), Blues and Roots, Round About Midnight, The Bridge, The Freedom Suite, Saxophone Colossus, to name a few.

Good songs include Giant Steps, St. Thomas, Blue Monk, Off Minor, Bitches Brew, Round Midnight, Epistrophy, John S., Manteca...

Oh, ok. I thought you meant the Genre Smooth Jazz. That stuff is basically easy listening music.

Anyway, try Monk's Dream, A Love Supreme by John Coltrane, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, The Incredible Jazz Guitar by the Wes Montgomery Trio, and Lady Day by Billie Holiday.

Carlos is more of a blues/latin fusion type thing. Kinda what Dizzy Gillespie did with Bop and Latin.

I didn't think that John Coltrane was smooth at all...

Anyways, Pat Methany. He's a guitarist.

I haven't heard that one. I was thinking more along the lines of Blue Train and bebop.

Listen to his Modal stuff after Impressions, including his work on Kind of Blue.

Pat Methany is one of my fave musicians ever.

P.S....And his signature Ibanez is a work of art.
