ohh goody...i get to explain to you why......
Because, if the manga is being scanned in another country, then the Japanese police would not likely to contact that other country just to catch some "petty criminal". Besides, only after the manga becomes serialized in that country do the police have some interest in stopping them.

scary....didn't know they can track your ip when you download a torrent file....my brother installed in peer guardian 2 to block out government, P2P, and other spyware ip addresses...i don't know whether that helps much, but just for some extra caution, he also told me not to download american music or american movies using a torrent client....seems like those big shots media companies are evem more vicious in america

But I don't think they understand...we need scanlations and whatnot 🙁
Where else are yaoi fangirls going to feed their obsessions?! >:-( Seriously. Buy them? What a joke! There are hardly any companies who publish yaoi, and although there are new ones every year, they don't come out fast enough. And they keep jacking up the prices. I ran across one company whose manga cost 16 bucks! Are you kidding me? Especially when I can just download them online. When a series I like is licensed, but I have already read it though scanlations, I'll still buy it if I like it enough, so I guess we just need more people who will do that. And so I ended up rambling 😛

My personal opinion would be is that they're making an example out of the people they've caught in hopes that more people would be "scared" into stopping their sharing of mangas over the internet. If they're going to go through with this, they're going to have a hell of a time catching every manga uploader out there in japan.

That's just... Funny. I mean, if you're going to buy bootleg, buy from Taiwan it's cheaper (cheaper yet to just download it). But I don't see it listed anymore.
And I agree. They're just trying to make an example. But that's probably little comfort to the people who got caught. Of course, uploading it before the release date is just asking for trouble.

Ah. Quite unfortunate. 🙁 I'm saddened for the guys.
But then again, I guess what I'm doing is illegal, but sheesh. >_<;;
Maybe they'll buy the manga and send it to someone overseas to scan. 😛 That'd be a bit safer, I s'pose.

Haha. But that would cost a lot more. It would be easier to hide (ex: use different computer shops/cafes in uploading your 20k+ volumes of manga).
Back in topic, good thing police in my country don't give a **** about manga.
