Never blame a nationality for the stupidity of it officials.
Unless said officials are elected by the nationality, in which case it makes total logical sense to do just that.
Bush was voted in by 25% of the American population.
Slightly less than to be technical. He actually lost the popular election to Al Gore but, you know, Electoral College and all that.
You'll notice I never used the word majority.
Virtually every democratic republic has a system similar to the electoral college in order to create greater fairness. I may not like Bush, and I may not think he deserved to be president, but from the standpoint of the country's own legal system (supreme court decision or no) he was the representative that was chosen. Otherwise you're looking at the same as the whole tea party "I don't have representation because the guy I voted for didn't win" logic. A representative is a representative, and the people are always going to be judged by them.
@aagcnet: You totally missed the point there. I said nothing about ownership, just that it makes sense to use a shorthand that is relatively unobtrusive when you consider the fact that the term "America" is almost never used to collectively refer to the North and South. We're just talking semantics, here. From a semantic standpoint it makes sense to use the obvious shorthand. It has nothing to do with ownership.

Ill give a brief description of what happens to our country.
Gov't officials and company executives have lots of money and want to make more
media likes money
Polititicians like money
Money that is supposed to be spent on education fills pockets, and is used as bribes
A crappy education system makes stupid people
Stupid people believe almost anything in the media(cough fox new cough)
Media shows corrupt propoganda to make the ignorant masses vote
Corrupted system allows executives and officials to make more moneyThen the gov't just sets that snowballing crap on repeat and watch their marionette's dance.
You missed what they do with the military.

Yup... America is the world police... (at least we think we are...)
America is a bullshit nation and has been for at least 40~50 years now
Hopefully things will turn around within the next decade though =lnot proud to be an american
Then you can leave. Instead of complaining about a 'bullshit nation' that gives you rights and freedom, why don't you go see how much better it is elsewhere?
I'm sure Chavez in Venezuela will welcome you.
About the US being the world police - I only have one comment: Neville Chamberlain - "peace in our time." Look how that turned out.

If I could I would move to Canada (not enough money and the fact that I'm only 16 doesn't help either)
And if you think the US is a free country your pretty damn wrong.
This country is racist and sexist and not only that but first generation American's whom's parents crossed into the country illegally can join the army DIE for America and NEVER be recognized as an American citizen.
There are countless things wrong with the US and the government is filled with scum who care for nothing but money
Is this me in a nutshell?
Pretty much.

Well we already know that America is pretty much becoming world police that's nothing new. But when I read this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2087574/Richard-ODwyer-extradition-A-naive-British-student-facing-10-years-chains.html it made me slightly angry. Only because it seems that America can do what the hell it wants and my country (Britain) won't stand up for itself and will happily be Americas poodle.
If you don't know what I am on about I am on about Richard O'dwyer who basically profited from a making a website that hosted links to piracy material. Now the link explains it better but basically Google does the exact same thing yet a British citizen is being extradited and charged with crimes that are actually not crimes in his own country. But of course America isn't gonna charge a billion dollar company like Google are they.
Anyway what're your thoughts on this matter?
i dont agree with what america did, but what google does is different.
google puts the ads on sites and if its alerted to illegal, questionable (what this person did), or pornographic, they pull the ads.
apparently he posted the links on a site what had ads and crap to make money... i felt sympathy for him in the beginning, but now... far less... still think its wrong, but jesus was he just goating the copyright holders.
at first i though this was completely wrong... but now... i get why they did it.

sueing a 4 year old girl, a dead grandma, yea those are sick abuses of power... but this asshole made more money a year than my parents who work full time and work tons of overtime... as far as im concerned this douchebag gets what he deserves... and before you forget, acta was signed by a crap ton of countries for reasons like this... i dont like those laws but this prick deserves what he gets.

Of course there are countless things wrong with the US, just as there are in every other country. But if you think you'll find the amount of freedom and rights you get in the US in many other countries, especially to the degree you see in the US, you're dead wrong.
I'm not trying to insult your age, but you're young and clearly don't appreciate what you've been given at birth (or more correctly, where you've been born). You do not yet know what it is like for other people who have to suffer with more controlling governments.
There is sexism and racism in America, but you'll find that anywhere. If anything, the US is a place where gender and race matter a lot less than they do in other countries. All the steps our government takes to prevent that seem to have slipped your mind. Ever heard of affirmative action? It's more society's standards that have made the US sexist and racist, not the government. There's more to be done naturally, and I'm a firm believer of anti-sexism/racism, but I'm glad I live in a country where the citizens can fight against discrimination in the first place.
As for your comment about the 'scum' government, again, you'll find that's true for almost every government out there, and not every government official is as evil as you make them out to be.
I'm not trying to rant, I'm simply trying to show you that you have a lot to be thankful for. Don't throw it away, and if you want to change the US, work toward that instead of sitting by and complaining about it. If you'd rather not, then feel free to move to Canada as soon as you can. At least you live in a country where it's possible to move as you choose.

@Zandra
I know full well how fortunate I am to live in a house be clothed eat food etc etc
And yes much of the world's government are scum but the US takes it to a different level.
America isn't what it used to be. Now everyone only cares about themselves and discriminates against everyone who doesn't. (at least a good 75% of the nation and especially in the state I live)
America isn't free and hasn't been for a long time. There have never been equal opportunities here, ever.
If the government of a country is scum and most of the people are garbage then said country is a bad one.
Much of the time I find myself thinking it'd be better if we were Chinese 😐
And unfortunately the Ninetails thing in my sig is somewhat true. (the last part is)
"watching with morbid interest as people ruin they're lives just so you can say "I told you so""
Is this me in a nutshell?
Pretty much.

Actually US is worse off than 80%(or more) of the democratic countries in the world when it comes to "freedom and rights", pretty bad considering it is a developed country. I would appreciate if, instead of trusting "researchs" paid by your enterprises to show the right results, you trusted facts and your own experience. (Oh wait, you are american, two thirds of your young can't point out Israel in a map and watch Fox News, what do you know about facts?)
And before you say anything about not appreciating what you have, my father was tortured by dictators, we like our freedom.(A dictatorship implanted by the US, by the way)
Furthermore, just because there is someone doing worse than you it doesn't mean that what you are doing isn't bad and that it should be appreciated, humanity should always look to progress.
I agree though that instead of running away from your country you should work to make it better, running away is extremely egoistical.

At it's best US was pretty words and a capitalist fing it's people in the a, now he has just taken a liking to f**ink other countries too.

No it wouldn't. I have been to China last year, and it's an excellent country, but only if you are a rich foreigner with a bunch of chinese slaves and money growing out of your ass

My dear Steed,
I am quite disheartened to have learned that you are not a resident of the U.S. How can I possibly meet you now at this rate!?
With a saddened heart,
Pika.
....
Topic-related, I don't have much to say, but I do enjoy my place of residency. I just wish I could live in New York City or San Francisco. Or Dallas.
Yes, I like being American.

Umm... it's not illegal to have ads on your website because it's the website host who is paying you to host there website on your site. But the point is what he was doing WAS NOT illegal in his own country where HE WAS so there for he was not on US SOIL. But us British are soft and we basically have this thing with america where we allow our selves to get walked all over.
Don't get me wrong I love americans it's just there and our goverment I don't like. The way our goverment does not stand up for it's citezens and how america likes to control every part of the world. Also I know we are very much like that too in some ways but mostly because we're following behind the US and I don't like it.
All I am saying is WTF! Britain for extroditing and WTF! U.S for wanting him in the first place with a an extroditing agreement that was originally built to combat terrorism.

Seems like a bunch of arguing about which country's in the wrong to me...why hate when you can appreciate your country for what it's got?
You can accuse all you want about another country but you're not going to fully understand what it's like unless you've actually been to different parts of the country and have been raised there for a few years. And I'm willing to bet if you dig for another article you can just find an example of another country being the "world police." Though I have to agree that American is infringing out of it's territory...with our situation inside the country why bring someone from another country into the mess n_n.
And if you Americans dislike living there so much, just leave...
I would if I could, but the U.S. is where I'm born and where I'm to stay until I am free. So while I'm living here I'm going to accept it and do what I can to change what I hate. And if I still hate it...
...well then there's always a spot in Japan for me.
You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.
