Relax liquid_hell. 🙂 since they're scanned from the volumes they are most likely medium high quality to high quality. Don't be so anxious people are still tied up with exams and stuff but once they are done and ready to get going i'm sure releases will be flying out (since i'll help with the editing so that makes three) and then you won't be happy to see new raws when we've got you suffering from arthritis from all the clicking(seriously editing can be dangerous if you don't make yourself as comfortable as possible and take breaks when you get tired). I'm assuming that ivory shoes will go ahead with the translations so that there won't be the need to wait on scripts(if not you should. If possible of course 😛 ) I think three cleaners is enough but to match that you will need another typesetter and fast translations. I'll also do the proofreading of the scripts like ivory shoes said. If you need anything like software or gray patterns (for pattern stamp tool- sometimes used when redrawing and filling in the greys) or anything at all relating to editing you can e-mail me and I'll reply when I can. X91 knows my email ask him or pm me. Back to studying now.

@x91 or ivory__shoes I was wondering how we were going to go about transferring files amongst each other. For instance the scans to the editors and the cleaned pages to the typesetters. FTP? Email attachments(not the best option)? If you need help with this email me and we'll figure something out. So don't start without me. 14th right x91? 😛

Yep another proofreader was needed from what I understood. So now all this project need is another typesetter. Anyone want to help typeset. You won't be alone and i'll help you however I can. I started reading the manga and it's really good. i'm hooked. Any junkies out there wanna help? No? No cleaning just typesetting. Oh well you could always use another cleaner as well. I'm pretty sure someone will volunteer by then. It's a pretty popular series and damn good from the few chapters i've read. Did you think about what I said earlier? What about transferring the files I can get us ftp if you need I know a good free service. Everyone will need a client like filezilla it's free. Reply whenever you can. No rush here.

Yeh we could use FTP. I have a friend who is willing to typeset as well if anyone else isnt interested. She's pretty good and i can also help her through the steps. For the typesetters, you have to talk about the fonts that you are planning on downloading and using. All we need now is the ups from ivory_shoes. I hope she comes on soon so we can plan this out properly haha

@luisalirio84 Oops, I forgot about the 14th of May thing. I might help out with translations, except it's in Indonesian so I don't know how far the difference is from Malay 🤣 I'll see what kinda screentones are generally used before requesting some from ya.

Oh, and if we're planning to transfer the files between cleaner and typesetter, does that mean the files will be in PSD form? (Although everything else would reduce quality)

@x91 Are we splitting the job of the cleaners? Cuz it seems that you're defining the jobs of each one and I was under the impression that the cleaner would:
-Crop, straighten, level
-Redraw, clone

yup 😀 It would be best if the raws come to me first so i can crop and stuff, then i'll send it to you, or load it onto badango and send you the link so you guys can download it and do the redrawing, and cleaning of speech bubbles and the rest. Because i dont have the software on my computer right now, this is all i can do, along with QCing, im sorry if it's troublesome 🙁 . I will compress it to winRAR like any other scanlations so that will save alot of free space without reducing the quality 🙂 is that ok?

Ivory_shoes we need your guidance >.< haha, anyways, good luck with the scanalating, give us the ups when you're ready to start (after the 14th of course 😛 )! btw thank you for giving us the opportunity to work on nodame cantabile. Much appreciated, i was really upset when snoopy cool stopped scanlating it and BYAAAH will scanlate the English version, which takes around four months for each volume to come out. arigato gozaimasu!

Okay here's the thing We should probably not split the jobs up as it means more uploading for the cleaners and not everyone is capable of that. There should be a folder in the ftp for each raw chapter. In the folder there's a folder for each cleaner with only the pages that he/she has to do. So the cleaner only has to download the 7 or so pages and clean them and do the works and then upload the finished product into a folder with the cleaned psd's for that chapter. This way we can divide up the cleaning work and not have to download an entire 40mb archive every time. We could use the same system for the typesetters. Altough since there are two of them they would need to be able to upload and download about 20mb each chapter.

Okay I just read the situation with x91 and we should still use the method above. Archiving it doesn't save much space. So That mean's liquid hell will have a lot of pages per chapter so it would still be best if he could download them individually as he could be downloading the rest while working on some. So when you crop it you'll just upload all the files png 's I guess into the Cleaning folder on the ftp and me and liquid will figure out how to divide the work (liquid you'll do most of the pages).

@x91 Sorry you didn't do anything to make me believe you were a girl. It's just that girls are scarce around here so I just usually assume that people are guys unless told otherwise. I'll keep that in mind.

Just to clarify things:
x91: Resizing, cropping, leveling
luisalirio: Redrawing, cloning
liquid_hell: Redrawing, cloning

Erm... just a thought, but isn't it better and not as disorganized if everyone just works per chapter? We could stick to x91 cropping and such, while both luisalirio and me would just take turns at the chapters that come out. It's not that big a hassle that I can't upload 40mb (I'm sorry if I created such an impression ^^") and it isn't as confusing then. As for the typesetters, I just feel that there might be inconsistencies in terms of style and it might be more obvious if the pages are handled by different typesetters (but that's just a thought, feel free to contradict me).

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind working with luisalirio's method as well but I'm not as used to it since I've never done my editing like this, although it would be interesting to see how it works out.

Damn now I'm in a harem. lol. Just kidding. Yeah girls are rarities here but then again this is a josei manga. Hmm. I don't know if I want to work on a chapter by myself but we'll see what happens ne? Ah I'll provide software for you x91. Also there wouldn't be much inconsistency in the typesetting once we set up rules and fonts for them to follow and use. But we'll decide that later. The splitting the chapter metdod really isn't as complicated as it sounds all you'd have to do is go to your folder and dload the pages assigned to you and then clean them and upload them for typesetting. Not that complicated is it? We'll work it out somehow. 😛
