I'm naturally tan (I'm Hispanic), and I tan even more in the summer. But I don't want to be more tanned 'cause it would look unnatural (to me).
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛

Isn't it odd how almost everyone that wants to be pale is tan and viceversa?
I bet that if I were cheese-pale I would have wished I could tan too. But sadly, I'm naturally tan and if I get too dark, I look like a gypsy. >_>

I have a light natural tan, but I'm Asian so it's kind of normal for me. Apparently I actually have quite fair skin for someone who's Asian, people are always asking me why I have such white skin. My aunt even asked me if it's due to drinking soy milk. 🤣
The only tan line I really have is a sock tan which leave my feet all white and my ankles at a light tan. I'm lucky the colour difference isn't that much, there's also have the standard tan at the collar bone area.
Regarding why those who are tan wish to be fair and why tan people want to be fair, I would think it's because that in countries where the majority of people are born with fair skin tan skin is marketed as being "beautiful", an example being America (note this is a loose example, I don't want anyone accusing me of being racist or anything) and on the other hand countries that have the majority of it's population having naturally tan skin market fair skin as "beautiful" (the majority of these countries belonging to Asia, example being China, you would know this if you've been there). In China they sell face/body whitener cream and lotions to make skin colour fairer and whiter but in other countries they sell tanning lotions and other tanning products. So that's basically how we get lots of people wanting their skin tan and others wanting fair skin. Weird isn't it.
The explanation is just to get the gist of it across and is not meant to give an analysis so please don't look into it too much.

When I tan, it's always uneven and looks bad. So I try my best not to.
