Its funny how so many people will still read something even if they know it will suck. Silly people...

I was kinda disappointed at the ending of Akira I was expecting it to end...
at the stadium but the fight just drags on all the way to the temple.
Old Boy
Seriously... can you even call that a ending? I thought I missing a chapter or two.

Depends on the manga, I guess.
If it's just some generic shounen or shoujo that I picked up for a few laughs or to kill brain cells, then I probably wouldn't have finished it anyway.... but most times, I think I'd have continued reading.

I am a keen Shoujo/Josei romance manga reader. For certain genre's the ending is not such a big deal and it is more about the mangaks's point of view. But in some cases where we are indulging in fantacies, as is the case in romance mangas, we want that dream to remain perfect. That is why most viewers are inclined towards a happy ending. And I am one of those people too. I like romance mangas to have a happy ending.
And where the ending is a bit slice of life or not a happy ending I do wish that wasnt the case and it does bother me, I have to admit.
So there are certain mangas in which I thought the endings did suck and I wish they were redone. For example Haou Airen, Hot Blooded Woman (she ended up witht he wrong guy in my opinion).

my vote is no. though i considered 'sucky ending' something like this :
main/favorite char dies in the end or something like that..though i cant think of any manga like that right now..there several anime i can think of.

Naw. Why waste time when I know everything's going to end in one big disappointment?

It's about the journey, not the destination. 😀

Depends...if it's a romantic comedy manga and I know the ending sucked. I would still read it. But if it's an action/adventure manga, then no thanks.

I voted no, but it would really depend on how much the ending sucked. For example: I would still read
Hana Kimi even though the ending was a bit lame imo however, if I could go back in time I would not have read ! TRC, because even though I really like the beginning, the ending made me see red. Ok, I take that back, the epilogue sorta made up for it.

It depends on the manga. There have been a couple of mangas that I've read and reviews said that the ending sucked but when I read the entire manga I thought the ending was good.
Even if the ending sucks, I still like knowing how it ends and the comfort that the series did end.

It won't affect me at all. If I'm interested then I'll read it

As people said before, I'm fine as long as the end leaves a sense of closure. Being open ended isn't bad, just don't make me feel like a missed a chapter at the end there or something.
Doing nothing is very hard to do. You never know when you're done.
ambiguous endings like that for the anime - Escaflowne - I dont bother to remember the manga names- the ones which end right where you started- Whats the point of that?
