It's a pretty serious situation it seems. Kinda worried myself. 😔

Worried here as well. ;_;

Crazy that all (or maybe some) schools, universities, concerts, and live shows have been closed or suspended in Mexico. That's just how serious it is but people fail to see it.

Nothing has been closed over here as of yet, but other parts of the US have some schools closed. Currently we are just in a state of alertness. O_O

Lots of paranoid people in my school though. It's allergy season, and many students were sneezing (one of the symptoms >_>) this week during class. Our teacher took of in the middle off the lecture...O__O

Exaggerating!

haha, my mom is freaking out. She said if there's a case in Toronto, I won't have to go to school for two weeks.

Media found something that can worry people so they're overblowing it.

Same old same old.

Our school sent out forms giving us tips from preventing it or if we demonstrate the symptoms from spreading it. Although people are freaking out, I'm pretty calm about it. I have a crappy immune system too 😀 So people with horrible hygiene issues, WASH YOUR HANDS! Please cover your mouth if you cough and then wash your hands again and again. Don't sneeze on people either, it's gross 🤢

It's been way overblown in the media. If you do the same things that you would in order to avoid the normal flu, you'll be doing what you need to to avoid the swine flu. It's more likely to be an issue in countries where hygiene is less of a priority.

My school called a few hours ago, telling us how to prevent it and its symptoms and such. XD
Lol. Lucky me, I'm not touching anybody. =3
But yeah, I'm a bit worried since at the moment I'm just starting to get a cold and allergies, and hope I don't get infected with that flu.

Seems to be the only thing on the news. -__-

I'm not that worried since the only cases in canada were down at BC. I was talking to my sis "ha good thing it's not in Ontario", and a few mins later they post news of having confirmed 4 cases in Ontario. Not only my that, but all in the Toronto area.

But the GTA is big, so I thought maybe more downtown. But no, 3 of the 4 cases are in MY region. We should have kept our mouth shuts.

I've also had a cold for the last few days, and currently sneezing and coughing every 5 secs. My sis is freaking out, thinking I have it. XP

I'm not worried because there are no cases in my area, and I don't like to leave the house much, and none of my family is sick, so... things are ok ^^

People die from the regular flu too; the reason this is getting so much attention is because it's unknown what course it will take, and that mystery and danger is great for selling papers and magazines XD

It's true though that this could become a big deal, so it's good the world is preparing itself.

The media is just trying to use something new to freak people out again.
SARS anyone?

Whatever the case may be, what irritates me in general is how bad basic hygiene is. Is it freaking hard to cover your mouth when you cough, sneeze, wash your hands after you use the restroom or maybe even friggin yawn!!? Huh!? Is it!!?? Why do people not flush toilets or stalls! Why do people simply leave sinks on and spit in them and not wash them out. I see people throw trash into the restroom, not into the damn trash can! Hahaha, geez. I apologize for that, I had to get all that crap I see everyday at school off my hairy chest. Some common sense...please... 🙁

The thing with this virus, is that they mutate very easily, so this could get out of our hands as easily as a new and more deadly mutation appears, but is not like I am going to stop living just because people are dying in other countries, I just need to take care of myself, and my family and friends, everyone else is disposable.

You should be fine as long as you don't live in Mexico. They're being hit hard by it. Plus, no one's died in the US yet from this so it should be fine for me.
