we met and hung out. but it was just so-- un-right.
i didn't like her that much and she brought her boy friend along.
why? doesn't make sense.
we kept in contact but i was a jerk by trying to avoid her afterwords

Yea, I've met up with several people from online. My first time was when I was 16 with a 24 year old guy. To be safe I made sure to bring my best friend along and he just showed us around Hollywood.
There was this other time that I coincidentally met up with someone from an online game i use to play, 'Aika'. We had been conversing for awhile and would meet up in game to level up together and what not and during those times that we talked I ended up developing a crush on him. But he stopped playing suddenly and I never heard from him for maybe a month or so. Then one day during lunch at high school I was introducing the game to another friend trying to get him to play with me when another guy walks by and recognizes the game I'm mentioning and we start talking about it. In about 3 minutes we realize that we actually knew each other in-game and was just like 'OMG, thats YOU?!' We had known each other irl since elementary school but never talked much to each other and several months later we started dating but~ we just recently broke up xP
I think its nice to meet up with online people irl as long as you can sure that it'll be safe. I'm meeting up with a friend from online on Halloween (: If there's ever going to be a MU meetup around LA I'm so down xD

Yeah once, since we were both going to the same convention. Poor guy, the only way we had to meet at the huge con was for him to find me among all the CC cosplayers. There were lots. I think we could have planned that better.

I ended up married to a girl I met online! 😉
Back in the 90's we were on the same mailing list and that's where we first met. Started talking and things progressed from there. Our 10 year marriage anniversary will be at the end of this November, so I'd say things have worked out pretty well.
