Ever met up IRL with someone you met online?

I advise you to only go on offline meets when you are 18 and above. You still don't know these people, even if you know them quite well on the net. Better be prepared and be mature don't go while your still some pubescent 15 year old who doesn't know any better. I would bring a friend just in case, it's a lot safer that way.
Anyways, I have been in a offline meet before and it's nothing quite that special. There's some kind of atmosphere that makes everyone all quirky and what not and their personalities are A LOT different than they are in real life. Kinda goes to show that what you say on the net is somewhat like some other person.
If you ever decide to go meet someone online, make sure it's a nice populated place like a bar, restaurant, amusement park, ice skating rink etc. Anything otherwise is a bit suspicious... (if it's a home, it's up to you, safety first.)

I met most of my current best friends online (Mostly through xbox live). Me and my one friend "Toshi" actually knew each other for about 5 years before we actually met offline at a mall in NY. But now thanks to him I met my current boyfriend =3 Some of the other people i met online actually went to my school so it was very coincidental.

I think the advantages of talking to people online is that you don't really have financial differences (or they aren't as apparent) and your hobbies are the same since you all play the same game or troll on the same forums. I once went to a meeting with my guild from one of my favorite online games (no its not World of Warcraft) and I felt completely out of place.
The venue started with Karaoke which to me was my first time and I was reluctant to try, so we did 3 hours worth of Karaoke with me sitting there not contributing or singing at all since its not my kind of thing. Then there's the difference in our taste or 'class' as it were (not to sound pretentious) but it didn't occur to me that a meal with 16 people would cost us less than a 1000 of our local currency (it was very cheap even for our roadside food standards).
Here I was sticking out a 1000 note for the food bill looking like a complete douche saying "cheap the change" as if I was giving away charity money (it cost us about 700 which was very cheap). After that I that I realised how different I was to them and didn't attend the second meeting just to save face.
I guess there's just too little you really know about the people online to truly say that you'll know they won't horrible rape you or bore you to death knowing how incompatible you are to them.
In the end I stick to my sarcastic statement
*"If its on the internet, it must be true!" *
Its like a gamble, really, if you have the free time to meet people offline by all means go ahead, with the risk and dangers being considered.
Do not feed the trolls

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

Not yet? XP

And that's only if I like, know them verrryy well or something. (:

Nope
Because I'm scared to see what's on the other side that computer and at that they all around the world. Plane ticket expensive now and days and I don't have no patience for no long lines. Please don't give the middle seat between a two fat people, arguing couple or crying kids because I be in a bad mood every time I get off the plane and you know you would to.
I love the kids, but not this much.
Would I lie to you?

I have, sort of. I made friends with an older girl on a forum and we told each other what we were cosplaying as at an animecon we were both going to. Just when I was about to leave I heard someone yell "cake" (an inside joke) and run over to me. She seemed really nice and enthusiastic and I really wanted to talk to her more, but I couldn't stay. 😛 I think I may have come off as a little rude and distant. And I don't go to that forum much anymore. I hope she didn't feel slighted. ;_; If we were to meet at another animecon I would be more friendly.
I think it's okay to meet someone you meet online irl as long as you do it in a public place with a few friends and don't give your address or phone number until you've established a real-life relationship. Cons are a good choice; they usually have their own forums where you can meet the people you're going to hang out with there. Some people have really different personalities on and offline, though. I personally think the real world and the internet should mix as little as possible.
Never met up with someone i met online face-to-face yet. I do wish to someday, though. I just need to make sure it's not some pervy old guy or something -.-

I don't really communicate so much with people I haven't met at least once IRL. Nobody lives anywhere near me anyway..
Hint: A not so very popular city in Australia xD
I personally wouldn't mind having a meetup with MU members though, maybe at a con or something .__.

A T-Shirt with "I'm sorry" words 😛

Ah...!
When I think bout it, I did meet some of the Bruneian people from deviantart. A friend of mine organised a DEVMeet for DA users from my country and I've met quite few of them.
I dont really get along with any of them, but I tried to be courteous to them. They're nice ppl but I dont have any chemistry with them.
there's this bruneian dude whose username is "Fish", and even when I got the chance to meet him IRL with his other friends, I still dont know his REAL name. I always say, "Hey Fish! Do you have a Malay name?"
That always made my friends LOL.
