One that I wish would get a decent ending is Yami no Matsuei. I've heard that it's looking unlikely that the series will ever be continued (though I suppose it's possible, and if anyone has any different information, it'd be good to hear!) With that in mind, I think it should've stopped where the anime did - after a big climactic scene where some things were resolved, but leaving it completely open to be continued.

I voted with the majority of people because I guess that I enjoy most manga that I read, but am sometimes dissatisfied with the ending. But being a bad, uncreative writer, I won't attempt at an alternate ending.

I read far too much shoujo for my own good, and - big surprise! - they tend to end in a very clichéd manner. Same for smut. Actually, it goes for most romance stuff that I've read. It's not that I mind it, it's just that it's nice to find a series every now and then that doesn't follow the same formula. Heck, I was even quite fond of

Peach Girl for at least having some creativity in which guy the heroine fell for in the end.

But anyway, much as I do enjoy a happy ending and all, it does get tiring. And, while I may not be able to do anything on the drawing side, I can actually write, and rather well too. Hence why I chose the third option. Because on a lot of shoujo series, and on even more smut series, I could write a better ending. The choices are there, it's just that the heroines tend not to make good ones, and repetitively as well. It's less about re-writing the ending and more about making the girl choose the guy with whom she'd have a healthier relationship, as far as I'm concerned.
