I was transfering from Greek to Roman in my head, and I just want to know which one you enjoy reading about the most, what your favorite figure is, or just myth in general. As longs as it pertains to mythology, tell me about it.

All choices are alphabetized, except for 'other', which is on the bottom. I'm sure I've left some out, but maybe a friendly mod could add a few on later...?

(I've never made a topic before and I blame boredom as for why I'm starting now.)

Well, it is more like Scandinavian mythology over all
for there were no clear boundaries to the countries when
those were in use. 🙂
Well, those Zeuses and Heras share the second trophy,
but in general, too much drama to me.

I tend to read all of 'em as I intend to write my own story one day. I can't really say I have a favourite but Greek and Norse mythologies are awesome.

I chose Greek, because I had studied Greek(sp?) for 2 years.. So, we read a lot of stories about them..

I also find that every Greek god has something unique and.. mythical, I guess, about them..

P.S.: Romans are just copycats of the Greeks.. 😛

Mmm... I don't know why, but I seem to enjoy Greek mythology. For some reason, I have an above average knowledge of it even though I never took any courses in them. Next is probably Norse. Sadly, even though I'm asian, I don't really know much about their mythology.

That's what I meant when I said I was switching in my head, I was turning Hermes into Mercury, Poseidon into Neptune, etc.

I've grown up with several different mythologies - they've been my bedtime stories as long as I can remember - so even though I've never 'studied' them, I'm quite familiar with most.

I think my parents read about chinese mythology to me and my sister talked to me about japanese mythology... alas, I'm still terribly inept at recounting them along with their history.

Judeo-Christian with influences from Mesopotamian and Babylonian. Basically anything to do with heaven and hell. Mostly hell. I'm currently reading Dante's Inferno. And after that I want to get my hand's on John Milton's "Paradise Lost" and Anton LaVey's "Satanic Bible."

Edit: The manga is only two volumes.. So, it's a pretty quick read,.. although good..

Japanese is the only one I really know. Well, I guess I know about Zeus and all that, but that one I don't really like. Actually, Christian mythology is pretty interesting too I guess.

Mmm... Valkyrie Profile... but aren't those PSX games? If so, they're going to be pretty hard to find now, not that it'd be easy to find if they were PS2 =/
