I would just like to break the tension and say that everyone does have their opinions, but there is no need to really bash on the original poster. He's just stating why people are doing those type of threads, which is reasonable. He even says he doesn't mean to offend anyone.

Anyways, to the original poster, the plain and simple answer is that the way manga is now is different from 20-30 years ago. Back in the early 80's, most mangas were focused towards elementary and middle school kids. And back then, stuff like manly men doing manly things was quite popular. And for shoujo it was just about magical girls and stuff like that. (I'm not too sure about shoujo's back then...)

skip to now and things have changed. Manga now focus on a wide variety of people, but to keep things simple, let's just say the shounen demographic. Most shonen mangas now seem to focus mostly on otakus, making mangas moe or offer a lot of fanservice, which is how mangas the world god only knows and hayate got popular. As for shoujo manga, they now like to focus on pretty men doing effeminite things, or girls falling in love with pretty men, etc.

So to say it shortly, what changed was the times, not the fans. Manly manga and such just aren't as good as they were back then, most manga companies realize that so you see significantly less mangas like that. So they make more ecchi and moe/yaoi stuff for the sake of more profit.

I have nothing against gay people, i just find it hard to belive that the majority of people reads sh...y and tra..y manga!

and i feel a bit offended that apparently the manga (yaoi) that i enjoy, shouldn't be scanlated, Only the manga you like should...
