Personally I don't count Sailor Moon as a cartoon - it's anime. But growing up I was a devote Hanna Barbera fan and the same goes for Looney Tunes.

Mmmm luckily in Italy anime were being aired on tv since the early 1980s, and, aside from Zorro, Sandokan and Johnny Quest, they were pretty much the only shows for kids when I was growing up.

So, my favorite "cartoons" as a child are some old anime like Tokimeki Tonight, Aishite Night, Lady Georgie, Candy Candy, and, later on, Sailor Moon, Marmalade Boy and Kodocha.

I can't believe I forgot, but The Chipmunks! I actually watched one of the movies with my four year old cousin not long ago and I was the one dancing and singing along. I actually had to bargain with her to make her watch it (because I wanted to) and as soon at the credits started to roll, she asked me if we could watch Star (The nightime host for PBS) again.

Pokemon and DBZ were classics, but I would probably have to say Doug was one of my favorites that I can remember.

I was baffled by Tom and Jerry as a kid. So many of the episodes sucked sooo bad I felt a gaping hole in my soul after I watched them. But many, many others were just mercilessly hilarious and I found myself soldiering through the sucky ones to get to the funny ones. It was sort of like watching the Three Stooges with Joe wishing Curly would show up.

It didn't take me long to figure out that the best ones were the MGM Tom and Jerrys done by Hanna and Barbera, and the stinkers were made second hand some time later. After that came the Chuck Jones episodes which, with all due respect to a great animator, didn't hold up to the originals.

So, old MGM Hanna Barbera Tom and Jerry for the win.

So going to show my age here! 😀 Yes, these are all my favorites, I was the kid that got up earlier (only on Saturday) to watch cartoons; 6AM-2:30pm (then it was Chuck Norris & Japanese Kung-Foo). Grape Ape, Penelope Pitstop, Voltron, orginial Transformers, Popeye, Huckleberry Finn, Adventures of Jonny Quest, Raggedy Ann and Andy, Sinbad, Pound Puppies, Scoob-Doo/Richie Rich, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Disney (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Chip & Dale), Astro and the Space Mutts, Captain Caveman, Josie & the Pussycats, Care Bears/Shirt-Tails, Casper, Snoopy, Count Duckula, Donkey-Kong (Zelda, Pac-man, etc), Dungeons and Dragons, Dragon's Lair, Fangface and Fangpuss, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Flash Gordon, The Marvel Action Universe (Spiderman, etc), Justice League (Supeman, Batman, etc), Super Friends, Flintstones, Jetsons, Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, Garfield and Friends, G.I. Joe (owned them too!), Ewoks, Gentle Ben, Get Along Gang, Ghostbusters, Godzilla (Sundays were the Japanese movies!), Heathcliff, He-man/She-Ra, Thunder Cats, The Incredible Hulk, Inspector Gadget, JEM, Shazam, Mighty Mouse (He's here to save the day..), Simpsons, Smurfs/Snorks, Space Ghost, Strawberry Shortcake, Captain Planet, The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro, Teen Force, X-men, Thunderbirds. Tom and Jerry, TMNT, Turbo Teen, Wolf Rock.
I am sure there is more but that is all I can remember off hand, damn no wonder I can't seem to remember anything from my college years, The cartoons/anime, comics/manga ate up all my brain cells!! 😲

I didn't have any favorite cartoon, since even then I found them silly.
