Why wouldn't you be the main character? Aren't we all the main character of our own story?

As for the pokemon scenarios, that'd be a pretty scary world to live in to be honest. A bunch of critters capable of causing huge amounts of destruction at will. And even worse: people being able to actually capture and control (coughslaverycough) the little buggers through a relatively simple process (all you have to do is throw a frickin ball at the it). Seriously, what kinds of people entrusts that kind of capability to 10 year old kids?

As for my choice, I'd pick the One Piece world, but with the Goro Goro no Mi (the lightning logia fruit) and/or the Rokushiki abilities.

ARIA isn't (Earth is just a very cold, technological sort of place), but even if it were, I don't think that post-apocalyptic scenarios are necessarily bad as a prerequisite if you end up with that sort of society... what would it matter? It would have already happened.

Can't believe I didn't think of one piece. I already have my character.I'm a swordman in one piece who happens to be luffy older brother. Also I'm a captain of one of the big four pirates like shanks and whitebeard.

Pokemon seems like a pretty cool choice. I'd love to totally leave behind my parents and explore the world at only 10 years old. So does being a soul reaper, but only if I got a really cool shikai/bankai. My final choice would be if Strawberry Panic was real. Going to school at Astrea Hill would be lots of fun

Nagasarete Airantou. One guy in an Island with nothing but girls. I probably wouldn't survive a month there but it would be a month well spent. 🤣

That's a good choice, since IMO, Usagi Drop is one of the stories that closest to my own reality. Just that you'd beaten me to say it out.
But, I'm no Daikichi, yet it gotta be nice to do such couragous and kind act like he did by taking Rin under his wing and sorts. 🤣
