I am looking for this manga about a curse but I can't seem to remember the title. All I remember is that there are multiple different stories, I believe, to the series and one of the mangas in that series is about the beginning of the curse.

I only remember two specific things. Please bare with me as I do my best to explain. The first thing I remember is that in one of the mangas there is a part, I think it's towards the end, where the protagonist or one of the characters goes back to the original location where the curse took place. The original place where the curse started was an abandoned village that has been completely blocked off so no one can get to it now but the character gets past the walls and searches the village for clues on how to stop the curse and comes across a room and discovers something shocking. That's all I remember from that one.

The second thing I remember is another manga in the series but this time the manga is about the isolated village where the curse first appeared. The setting takes place when the curse first started so of course the village was not yet blocked off, it was still full of life with people living there. I think the protagonist in the manga was a guy. I remember at some point everyone was so horrified they all hid in the village hall, like their town hall. I read this manga a few years ago so I'm doing my best to remember as much as I can. I remember the manga having some gore aspects to it.

Since I started to remember about this specific manga I have searched through many horror genre mangas as I could because it seems like a horror manga that's about death and a curse. Two mangas that remind me very much of the manga series that I'm searching for are: Another and the Higurashi series. I do not think these are the mangas I am searching for because I just finished reading Another and of course that wasn't it and I looked through as much of the Higurashi series as I could but all the mangas take place in a village where as the manga series I am searching for takes place in the city, I believe, and only in the origin story of the curse is where the setting is the village.

I hope that by posting this here I can have some sort of help in finding the series I am searching for. I'm just dying to read it again. Everything I posted is all I know and can remember about the manga. I hope my rambling makes sense and a quick thank you to those who take the time to read my plea and offer any help and suggestions!

I know you said you checked out Higurashi, but are you sure that isn't it? Because the first manga you describe really reminds me of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Yoigoshi Hen. EDIT: Or Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Onisarashi Hen maybe.

Otherwise, the only other manga that even vaguely resembles your description that I can think of is Ou-sama Game - Kigen.
