weird title but i figure ppl might actually be curious and check it out. ^^
so, i am a person who is always getting bitten by bugs. fleas, mosquitos, if it will drink human blood, it will go for me. out of ppl in a group, i am the one they go for. i went on a trip today, sprayed on bug spray and found three new bites. apparently i taste so good, they just need to bite me again.
does anyone have, reasonable, advice to keep them away?
Some things i do:
- use bug spray. check.
- buy oodles of pink calamine lotion and look the pink panther in the summer. check
- eat tons of garlic in hopes that they will stay far far away. check

GUESS WHO??
Ironic how your forum title is "i bite back" ... 😛
There's this keychain device I use once in a while that when turned on, it emits a high-pitched monotone noise, but the volume is really low so it's not annoying at all. It works pretty well.

Vitamin B12 always worked for me.
Don't get the fast dissolving ones though. They taste disgusting.
I'm always the one to get bitten by bugs too, mainly mosquitoes.
It would sound weird, but instead of spraying repellant I just put alcohol, it works pretty well for me.

lol. thanks for pointing that out. i didn't even notice the irony. but there was this one flea i saw sticking to my leg while i was driving and i tried killing the stupid thing at every stop light but it managed to survive. fleas are immortal beings
i did try the keychain but it turns out i can hear the buzzing sound and it really annoys me. well, that was a couple of years ago. i should try it now that i've been listening to tons of rock 😀
and i don't really eat that much meat. as for sweating, i think i'm in the normal range. ^^

Do you eat a lot of sugar? Vampires really like sugary blood for some reason. Have you heard that mosquitos hate the smell of lemon verbena?
I knew someone once who was allergic to mosquitos, so she always had to wear long sleeves even in the summer. The thing to remember in order not to overheat that dark colours obsorb the heat, (so that's not a good summer colour) while white reflects some of the heat. Also, cotton or linen are the most comfortable fabrics.

Ha. I'm always the most bitten, I don't sweat excessively, and I haven't eaten any meat for 16+ years.

Found this on WebMD: ""People with high concentrations of steroids or cholesterol on their skin surface attract mosquitoes," Butler tells WebMD. That doesn't necessarily mean that mosquitoes prey on people with higher overall levels of cholesterol, Butler explains. These people simply may be more efficient at processing cholesterol, the byproducts of which remain on the skin's surface.
Mosquitoes also target people who produce excess amounts of certain acids, such as uric acid, explains entomologist John Edman, PhD, spokesman for the Entomological Society of America. These substances can trigger mosquitoes' sense of smell, luring them to land on unsuspecting victims.
But the process of attraction begins long before the landing. Mosquitoes can smell their dinner from an impressive distance of up to 50 meters, explains Edman. This doesn't bode well for people who emit large quantities of carbon dioxide.
"Any type of carbon dioxide is attractive, even over a long distance," Conlon says. Larger people tend to give off more carbon dioxide, which is why mosquitoes typically prefer munching on adults to small children. Pregnant women are also at increased risk, as they produce a greater-than-normal amount of exhaled carbon dioxide. Movement and heat also attract mosquitoes."
"[English] not only borrows words from other languages; it has on occasion chased other languages down dark alley-ways, clubbed them unconscious and rifled their pockets for new vocabulary."

Use stronger bug spray.
If the one your using now is still letting you get bitten, then it's not strong enough.
There is some stuff out there that is so strong no insect will go anywhere near you.
