If we're talking about the entertainment factor only, then:
Kim Possible
Spider-Man
Powerpuff girls
Samurai Jack
If we're talking about art:
Totally Spies
Ben 10
Avatar: The Last Airbender
But in both cases, it's all subjective. Some people may prefer this art style to that, or judge the quality of the story by the art.

I think most american cartoon shows are okay, but some of the best (I think) are:
-Justice League, Looney Toons (Old & New), Samurai Jack, Power Puff Girls, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy, The Simpsons and Boondocks.
Mainly the old shows, from the 90's (My time 😀 ).
Shows now are just like......nothing. Like Family Guy, pure garbage, funny but garbage to the mind. 😔

Batman Beyond
Batman the Animated Series (some rank this as the 2nd best cartoon series of all time, and the best comic book cartoon of all time)
The New Adventures of Batman
Spiderman (90s)
Justice League/Justice League Unlimited
The Boondocks
Avatar The Last Airbender
US just arent as appealing as they once were. Almost all the cartoons these days emphasize on comedy now..D=

I always thought that only anime guys would do it for me, but when I saw Young Justice... >__< Good God, I found the majority of the male cast incredibly attractive, something I didn't think was possible either.
Avatar: The Last Airbender was awesome as well, and then The Boondocks was just hilarious.
Those are basically my top three I guess. 😛

Young Justice. I find their use of color and lightning to be artistically gorgeous in some scenes, ie Atlantis and the theme song.

I totally agree! I also want to add Teen Titans, The Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H, and Shaolin Showdown.

Avatar the Last Airbender is honestly the only american cartoon that I will ever acknowledge to being equal to if not better than most animes. It's just a matter of preference but I just love the sense of humor, expression, fight scenes, and just overall plot line.

Xiaolin Showdown and Spongebob Squarepants are probably the only cartoons I've actually followed enthusiastically. They don't air Avatar anymore where I live, so I can barely remember what it was like.
I'm not from the Western hemisphere, so the storylines/characters in American cartoons don't appeal to me. But I don't think they're any worse for that; they're geared towards the Western way of thought, after all. Why shouldn't they be?
American animation is on the same level as, and maybe even better than, Japanese animation, certainly -- but the art is probably the reason most anime fans don't like it. It's completely different from anime/manga art, after all. And the beefy, muscular bodies in those superhero cartoons (heck, even women look like that!) are more than a little off-putting, at least for me.

There is no maybe about it. Western animation just flat out better. But you know, there are the odd series here and there that just plain suck. But if its the style you aren't liking, well that's up to preference I suppose. I will however give you two counters to your criticism about overmuscled people.
One: Fist of the Northstar. For a more recent example try Needless
Two: Incredibly feminine males. About all they are missing are a set of tits. What's up with that?
