Not something I would've admitted. But to each his own.

That actually sounds like an awesome road trip.
Was it just for kicks, or were you on a mission of some sort?

First road trip ever was a trip to Downtown LA with my sister and her then boyfriend. They did the driving as I was still without a licence at the time.
The first trip where I was the one driving was when me and my family had to drive my grandma to LA. We left in the morning and got stuck in traffic just outside Tulare. We stuck there for hours on a nice hot day. After that it was about 120 MPH through the grapevine in an old Maxima.
The next trip was all the way to San Quintin. It's just past Ensenada.I drove us all the way to the border then we swtiched drivers for the rest of the way.
The last road trip was the longest. I drove from California to North Carolina with my sister and two nieces in a Dodge Neon. We were packed like sardines in there, and the temperature for most of the trip was hovering around the mid to upper 30's F. during the day. At nights the temps dipped into the teens mostly. And thanks to my sister being the way she is we stayed at Days Inn Hotels to sleep. They weren't bad. Except for the one in Oklahoma where I got sick. I'm not sure if it was because the room we were in was disgusting or because the weather was freezing, but if I ever do it again, I will drive right through Oklahoma regardless of the climate or conditions. Driving through Texas was a pain too. About twenty miles there was a trooper and the speed limit was 55 down the interstate. >:-( Y'all need to fix that. I almost ran us off the road after taking some cough medicine somewhere in Mississippi, and there were a lot of frozen birds, wings still spread af if they were trying to catch a draft all the way there along the I40.

About once a year I take a trip around VA, and go camping and stuff. Visit Natural Bridge and Stonewall Jackson... It never gets old.
When I was younger I would go on road trips to WCU and Cullowee and that area, but not so much anymore now that I have no real reason to.

I went to Ashland, Oregon for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Anyone else ever been there before?

My family is a big believer in cutting cost of travel by driving. So we drive EVERYWHERE. When we lived in Germany, we drove to Switzerland, Paris, Garmish, Italy, you name it. Of course, what's the point in seeing more of your home country? The only places we drive here are between Florida, Georgia, Virginia and the northern midwest (Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota).
My friends and I like to pretend my mom will actually let me go on a roadtrip with them sometime while I'm still in college and plan all sorts of fun places to go. If we ever do manage to get an OK from her, I think the first one will definitally include the Grand Canyon.

Road trips are the best. My family is a family of 8. 6 kids and the parents. Every other month we drive to Las Vegas for 4 hours. We sit there playing video games, watching t.v., arguing, etc. You name it we do it family trips are crazy. 😀
