flamenco guitar is the most skillful guitar technique.
I would say that Jazz is the most TECHNICAL style of guitar playing, with flamenco and metal tied for second.
To say that it is the most SKILLFUL technique is based on opinion, because technique=/=skill.
@xombiemonkey: It's your opinion and you are definitely entitled to it, nothing wrong with it. But I always saw Cobain's main musical focus to be more showcased in the lyrics of his music, because his guitar playing was nothing special. And blowing one's brains out with a shotgun while listening to REM is not so awesome.
Oh yeah, and Led Zeppelin is the greatest band ever.
@spyder- Nightwatchman FTW!!!!!

I agree with kaerfehtdeelb... Mark Knopfler. There's also a famous Norwegian bluegrass guitarist (he played in a group called Gitarkameratene) named Øystein Sunde who is quite amazing.

I forgot to add him to my list. He did something with blues that no one else had done. And he made it damn sexy too

Agree, he's a genius. And Miyavi isn't half bad. His "Jikoai, Jigajisan, Jiishiki Kajou" is simply brilliant.

That's pretty awesome.
Right now my favorite guitarist is John Frusciante.

I see so many great guitarist's listed here, but for me this one was a no brainer, Joe Satriani. Even though my taste in music has drastically changed over the years, his stuff has always been some of my favorite music.

I would say Miyavi - I don't really like any of his stuff but he can play.

The oldies are good too but they lack (for me) the arrogance of Miyavi.

Heh, good to see that someone thinks the same way I do 😀 . "Jikoai..." is good, I really like the way it merges with "Selfish love".
@Aho - the second one's nice and the opening of third one is very good 😀 .

Jack White, Jimi Hendrix, Jonny Greenwood.
That Jap slapper was impressive, by the way. Good stuff.
