I haven't read any of HOTD, but when I read these kinds of mangas I always end up liking the cool kendo/samurai girl, so I voted Saeko.

while we're at it:
The Walking Dead was just recently made into a television series. and it's a fuckn good one. probalby the best zombie story i've ever seen.
i believe it plays on showtime. totally recommendable
