Skip Beat.... shoujo, but the lead female is intelligent, and when love goes wrong, she tries to kick love's ass instead of just get depressed. It follows her budding career in the entertainment world, from nobody to small parts actress, and her gradual romance with one of her colleagues. It's hilarious...shoujo, obviously.

Its primarily a comedy. A dark one, but its got a little bit of everything in it. Its interesting to say the least. it subverts just about every cliche imaginable. Including romance.
