Well, it's true. It's not appreciated enough. When it was playing on Much (think Canadian MTV, but that actually plays music videos) all I ever heard was people complaining about anime being on all the time. I just watched every episode over and over and over. Though I did manage to convert one of my friends by sending him the oneshot "Over the Bridge" by the same mangaka, since he's an even more rabid RHCP fan than I am. And yes, I'm a girl ~ thanks for checking first. Though gay marriage is actually legal in Canada, come to think of it...and yes, Timmy's = life. Mmmm...timbits...plus it's Roll up the Rim right now. Not that I ever win anything, but it's still fun.

Other manga? A lot of shoujo, since it's what got me into manga and I didn't branch out for a long time. I love Monster, it's arguably my favourite of all time, Death Note when the plot wasn't all screwy (which it was too often), Battle Royale, though the book's better, Genshiken, and Bleach (my guilty pleasure, for shonen at least).

And good job on the quote, my RHCP friend would like you, as he finds it impossible to have a conversation without quoting something every five seconds.

BECK was the best thing to ever grace Much Music, actually.

(Well, Video on Trial 's pretty good too, I guess...)

One night I caught one random episode by sheer coincidence. It was instant-obsession.

I downloaded it all, and watched through it twice.

Now I'm waiting for Funimation to release a complete box set or something, 'cause, I want that show, but... I'm... kinda poor.

p.s. Tim Horten's is the 7th circle of hell, actually.

So true about Video on Trial being the only thing even close. Same with me over the random episode thing, and the box set thing. I'll go without manga for a month or something to save up for it...anything but get a job. Especially at Timmy's. Having had friends who worked there, I will admit that you're right about it...though not for the happy, sugar- and caffeine-filled consumer, just for the poor guys stuck working under hellish bosses who don't even make the free food worth sticking around for.

@Reiketsukan: Remember, like, the first commercial they did for it? Well, it was the first time they did it that I knew of at least...the one where the guy was at the border and they asked him if he had anything to declare? Ah, the glorious days of my childhood...I almost actually did that at the American border when visiting relatives once, I was so in love with that ad...

Actually, I ALMOST worked there. I applied and everything, and went to an interview, and they offered me the job...

But I couldn't do it. I turned it down, and worked at a car dealership instead.

And then I quit that...

But even for customers, Tim's ain't great. I mean, their products are alright, but whenever I want coffee, there are so many people lined up there, that the line stretches about 20 feet out the front door. That is not even an exaggeration in the least.

I just make own coffee now, and get my pastries at a damn bakery.

@Reiketsukan: one of my friends had a job at one, but he was an idiot and quit it, because, to quote him, "I didn't think having a job would be so much work." Ah, how I miss that boy...he was just so easy to make fun of! Well, he still is, actually, but that's not the point.

@Phayt: lucky you didn't get hired, that's all I can say. I guess I'm just lucky, I never seem to have to deal with massive lines or anything. Or rarely at least. Though their products aren't fantastic, they're not half bad either, so since I don't usually have to wait, I don't mind that much. But I do hate it when I get icky watered-down hot chocolate, which seems to happen only when it's actually cold out and I really do want something good. It seems the universe is against me again...but apparantly not as against me as it is against you. The Timmy's universe, at least.

The lines are really only bad at specific times, like, when people are rushing too and from work. And around lunch.

Unfortunately, those are the only times I would go there, anyways.

I have to agree, especially after I found out how many free movie passes he got. But then again, he's always been the laziest person I know, so it kind of makes sense. It was actually his brother and cousin who worked at Timmy's. They're both two years younger than him yet managed to last several months more at Tim's than he did at Cineplex - you have to be REALLY lazy for that to happen.

I worked at a car dealership for 4 days, doing mostly nothing all day, and then quit...

That, is lazy.

....yeah. You win.

Isn't the Sheppard Grande on Yonge or something? Dunno, I'm more of a Queensway Cinemas girl myself, since I'm in the west end.
