Your attitude towards romance manga.

By some rough estimates (too lazy to actually calculate it), I read about 75% romance manga.
Although I read a lot of romance, many times the romance itself is not why I read the story. I'm usually more interested in the other elements of the story even if the romance is supposed to be the main draw. I don't care about possible pairings and sometimes I think all the love triangles get in the way of the actual story. Not that I don't like romance! Otherwise I wouldn't have read so much of it.

90% of the manga I read is romance although mos romance mangas are annoying but I still read it anyway 😐
I'll read another genre if the plot is interesting enough and the art is good
No one gives a shit what trite garbage you write here.
I guess 90%? Mostly I've read shoujo so far, don't mind other genres though I do prefer a female perspective. Though I have read non-romantic stuff, some of the one's classified as romance, might not have much romance in them. I don't actually see if it has romance in it or not, if I like the summary, I'll start reading it, regardless of the romance.

I am female, but I love the action-y stories a lot more than the romance ones. Japanese romance stories seem to follow the same pattern, so once you've read one high school romance tale, you've read them all!

I pick the first one. I can't avoid it for some reason....

First things I look for in a title is the possible pairings...
I'm a guy just so we're clear.
😲
Blakraven is a fudanshi!
Is that some alternate male version of fujoshi which I've never heard of? I don't believe I'm that extreme.

You said it, sister. And it's not just Japanese romance. Love stories from different countries all have their own basic patterns; once you've read a couple, you can't possible read any more without getting the 'same old, same old' feeling. (The best example for this is probably the James Bond films; ughhh- I can't stand that repetitive crappy 'romance')
Of course, action is pretty stereotypical too- but at least most characters in those manga have some kind of individual style.
Anyway, I'm glad to have found another kindred spirit! 🙂

Fudanshi is, generally, the male version of fujoshi. But I think fudanshi see homosexual pairings as well as heterosexual ones. So, you would be something like 'half fudanshi'.
Hope you won't be offended. 🤣

Well, occasionally my series will have romance, but I generally avoid Romance at all costs. I can honestly say that I dislike it greatly. I have no particular reason; I just feel that it is irritating and drags away from the story.
But this is my attitude in everything, not just manga. I hate reading novels/books that have Romance as well. 🤣
Romance used to be the only thing I read, but now, it's probably 50%...I found out (kinda late) that there are a lot of other great genres that doesn't need to have romance. 🤣

Woow! So cyclamen and I are not alone in this world! I'm so happy...I was seriously starting to think that there was something wrong with me. 🤣

At least you realized that now; better late than never, right?
Thankfully, I overcame my 'romance addiction' when I was about 13. So, from the start, I didn't place a 'romance only' restriction on my manga, novel, movie or anime preferences.

Disagreeing with popular opinion and being 'not normal' isn't a bad thing. If truth be told, I kind of like the fact that I'm different from other girls...I never liked commonness anyway. It's not interesting at all.
Okay- so now I'm starting to sound like a conceited weirdo... 😛

How true! Being 'not normal' is not wrong at all. And I've always found unusual people (not the crazy type, the sensible one) to be pretty intriguing too.
And by the way, I don't think you're conceited or weird at all! 🙂

Wikipedia say:
Men who, like fujoshi, enjoy imagining relationships between characters in fictional works when that relationship is not part of the author's intent may be called fudanshi (腐男子?, "rotten man") or fukei (腐兄?, "rotten older brother"), both of which are puns of similar construction to fujoshi. Fudanshi and fukei are not necessarily fans of BL, although the terms may be used in that sense.

I don't read pure-romance often, but I do read a few titles were romance has a not entirely crucial part in the plot.

I'll read pure-romance stories, but they have to be very good and realistic for me to really care. I generally only like romance when its mixed with other themes or genres. Romance manga are only really good when they explore some unusual element or idea about love and relationships or depict realistic emotion and conflict. Otherwise there has to be some other appeal to the story aside from the simple "romance" it centers around. ( all of which means I don't usually like shoujo romance)
