...wasn't the NAME itself jacked from a Fullmetal Alchemist filler episode?
As to everyone complaining of "shounen meets Gantz" - that supposed to be a complaint? Or the highest possible level of praise attainable??

With Gantz to end in 2, if this is in fact shounenized Gantz, well, that'd be kinda nice for us bereaved fanboys...
UPDATE: read a dozen chaps...OH YEAH, DEFINITE INFLUENCES NOTICEABLE.
Call it 'GANTZ phase 1, JR. LITE'.
Instantly recognizable elements from Gantz:
SETUP:
* people from all over occasionally get teleported into a deadly game environment
* there are play area boundaries, dangerous zones, and a map
* play area is Japan... sort of. but different.
* there are monstrous enemies and the environment itself presents certain risks
* "prize" for surviving and winning is a temporary ticket home, with a way to eventually end it for good
*there's a mix of newbies and veterans who've given up trying to talk sense into the new players
* n00bz bicker, fight, refuse to believe their situation, but aren't particularly sadistic or predators unlike Gantz - hence the "LITE" shounen version (lead char is surprised by a delinquent's motivation to help when leaving him to take care of a passed-out female teammate and buddy - but never for a second expects the scary yankee to raep her or something)
* surviving the first, clueless round is essential to learning the mechanics and gaining self-defense mechanisms for future bouts (G: suits weapons rules, P: powers map rules)
*survivors of round 1 return to everyday life more powerful and with an everyday power advantage, should they choose to use it
* nothing remains of those who don't survive
* talking to anyone other than a fellow participant about all this is... STRONGLY discouraged
* impending unknown apocalyptic event, game is somehow a key to preventing it
* 2 ways to "win": aim for the lofty goal to "save the world" or just clear on points, be free of it all, and let other victims handle it
CHARACTERS:
* two HS guys who knew each other in elementary (one ex-badass who grew up short and is starting to look silly as he edges towards grownup life - moreso Kurono; one ex-wuss who grew to be twice his size and is now in a bad school where he's a top delinquent/is seen as one at least - moreso Asago)
* a somewhat weird HS girl (moreso Amamiya in overt actions...then again, Kishimoto entered the game by slitting her wrists, so YMMV) to round out the core of the team. both guys kinda like her. to mix things up a lil, author transferred some of Katou's traits and elements of the Kurono/Katou dynamic to Amamiya.
* a jaded, traumatized veteran who no longer cares about anything but clearing, is the sole old-dog survivor still in the game, and refuses to disclose some of the info. and is kinda nuts & widely recognized as THE major weirdo in school. (some Nishi traits also delegated to Amamiya)
* "graduates" - people living in the normal world who have survived and played enough to clear and be free.
* idiots who have heard of the game (though they really haven't a clue), and in their stupidity WANT to play
...uhm, yeah. Safe to say: GANTZ* RIPOFF, SHOUNENIZED. Worse art tho, pretty generic manga faces that don't show much emotion, sloppy movement / hard to decipher fight scenes, less attention to detail, crappier backgrounds if there are any at all... And weaker mood/less emotion.
*note: w/ some stuff pilfered from what looks to be Bleach or something to round it out
PS ripoffs that aren't 100% absolute and utterly dumb don't have to be all bad... imho, BTOOM is vastly superior to Battle Royal, for example. This one, however, is no Gantz, and that's immediately visible. First dozen chaps of Gantz have plenty to shock, horrify, amaze; plenty of thought-provoking stuff; and even a good chance to tear up... Here, not so much. First dozen chaps are fairly entertaining, but provoke thoughts more of the "ooh, shounen moment again - wonder how this'd play out if it were for adult audiences" or "yay, another cliche" varieties.
