I don't think Don Flamingo is responsible for Squardo's actions, since when Squardo went missing while Don Flamingo was preoccupied with talking with Iva and later with Crocodile and Diamond Jos. Though Donflaming does seem to be able to get around pretty quickly. I'm surprised Whitebeard was caught off guard, considering the flashbacks when Ace wasn't able to touch Whitebeard even when he was asleep. I'm looking forward to how everyone reacts to this turn of events.

When you think about it, you could tell that something like this was gonna happen chapters ago when Whitebeard was calling for Squardo and couldn't get to him, and then when Marco was wondering why he was up there with Whitebeard. They were very little hints though, but it was well done.
And it kinda makes you wonder if this is the only way Luffy would be able to get close to One Piece by killing off Whitebeard in this war...

I agree with that. I am surprised to see WB off guard as well. I mean, he can sense attacks even in his sleep...
Therefore, I'd have to disagree with you about Doflamingo. It is a high chance that it is Doflamingo because he is a puppeteer (or so we think...). We also do not know his range, like distance of control and how many people he can control at once. Also, because he is controlling people, they might not project a killing intent which would make it undetectable which is why WB might have fell for it. Or, at least I think so.
Still, the fact that he was missing for a bit makes good reason for foul play. I don't think anyone who is not an emperor can take on WB in an honest face to face combat.
It would be sad for WB to be gone though, the only man who could face Gol D. Rodger equally. I think he will continue fighting but with a handicap (huge ass blade through his chest).
I think Buggy's reputation will go up, maybe his bounty as well and his crew would be much much more impressive than before.

i think we all know that some way or another, whitebeard will die here ( 😕 ). but if it comes down to luffy vs whitebeard, i dont think ace will let it happen, making the happy-go-lucky (is that how you say it?) luffy walk away and find another path to one piece

i don't think anyone was expecting that but i think whitebeard is not out for the count yet, beacuse it would be pretty disaopinting if he doesn't really show off his true strenght at least once.

What I'm saying is that Oda might kill off Whitebeard in this war, and then with "The man closest to One Piece" out of the way, Luffy would have no major problems getting to it, seeing how everyone else is as clueless as him when it comes to the location of One Piece.

i do think that whitebeard could get killed of during this war but i do think that there will be more people closer to one piece and people like kid who i think will later make a strong mark on the world.don't forget the other two yonkuo who haven't been seen yet.

I think this chapter simply means the end of the last remnant of Gold Roger pirate age. With his death, a new pirate age will begin with Luffy at the center of it all.
But still, i'm too shock with this development, i'm so shocked that even my shock absorber couldn't even handle the shockness of me being shock. Everything happened shockingly fast and 😲 😲 😲 😲

whitebeard seems like the person who would never die no matter what. it would suck horribly if he just died like that after so easily. All he did so far was create a few tsunamis to wreak random havoc. He CANNOT die so easily!!! 😲
