Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with some quick questions. I suddenly had an urge to read Junjou Egoist and was just wondering, do I need to read the first part (Junjou Romantica) in order to understand the story/get the characters since I have tried reading a few chapters of Romantica a long time ago and it wasn't really my thing (no offense ^^;; ) ? Or will the info on the series page be sufficient?

Edit.

Something important I forgot to ask haha, but what volume/chapter does Egoist start and end at? 😛 ;;

You don't really have to read any of Romantica to understand Egoist, but you get a more in depth look at some of the other characters you see in Egoist, in the other stories.

Also, for all the Egoist chapters look at this as they're mixed in with the other chapters throughout the volumes. n_n

It's probably a bit late, but no you don't have to read Romantica first, but there are a few details that you might not catch and most likely be read as background details. For instance, in Egoist, you'll see the main character from Romantica riding the the train with Nowaki, and a "hey!" might escape from you.

I have to get in the same boat as you. When I first read Romantica, I wasn't that into it, but when I happened to accidentally read Egoist on one of those slow Fridays, I was pleasantly surprised. Romantica is the more traditional yaoi, while Terrorist is, I personally think, more of an exploration between a relationship between two adults who see the vast differences and the difficulties that are between and before them. Also, Nowaki's slightly perverted person behind his very innocent face and action is kind of endearing.
