What other characters were made to look evil when they were actually good? I really cant think of any. I mean Gaara had a change of heart after his fight with Naruto, but its not even really similar to Itachi's case (since he was more like an extreme anti-hero).

Neji was portrayed as a "bad" guy in the chunin exam arc.

Neji was far from evil. He just had some family issues...

Not like he was planning to destroy the world or commit some stupid crimes...

Wonder when Naruto is going to become back a decent story to read. And why the fuck wants Madara that Sasuke question him, after what he revealed so far you would expect that the hate towards Itachi will become hate toward Madara and that sure can't be Madaras goal so he is gonna try to manipulate him big time which the "uber" Sasuke (cough cough) should be to smart for.

And I want Madara to die bye Narutos hands, he fucking send Kyuubi to Konoha which led to the death of Yondaime so Naruto should finish of the bastard that killed his father. But it seems Kishi is setting him more and more up to battle Sasuke and make him the next Itachi for Sasuke cause can't imagine Sasuke joining Akatsuki.

I think that one of the major points of Naruto is that there is no clear line between good and evil. Neji and Gaara, even though they were portrayed as "bad guys", can you really say that they're bad? Especially after the fight? No.

What Itachi has done will qualify him for evil, no doubt about that. But Itachi we'll find out soon... hopefully.

who cares if Itachi is good or bad , his cool and has perhaps some of the more interesting techniques in this manga.. too bad he has to die for his pussy little brother lol, maybe the should make a spinoff of Itachi ...or maybe not . too much of something always makes it bad..

Itachi was already hurt when he started to fight Sasuke, and after what we just saw, we can safely say that he lost on purpose with adding the previous injury to his side, he was at about 50-60% and he used his final tech which would of already heavily fatigued him, which ultimently(sp?) led to his death with the previous things, i can say without a second thought, no matter how much Orochimaru trained Sasuke, if Itachi had been at 100%, he wouldn't of stood a ghost of a chance.....

We still don't know what Madara's ideals are. He was busted out of the leaf village, and it seems that he may have founded Akatsuki. We still don't know what Itachi's real motives were. After all, he never really said, did he. And another thing in defense of Itachi is that the Uchiha clan was quite isolated from the rest of the Leaf Village; they didn't want him in the Anbu at all.

Of course, I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I'm really just sitting and waiting.

I dont understand other ppl's reactions, I really loved the bit that revealed Itachi might have been trying for his brother's good after all, 😮 I must be the only one who liked this twist...whats the fun of being a straight forward bad guy, huh? no offense but go read something else if you want that, you have a choice of 90% of all shounen mangas at least along with all of the action comics in US, want more?

PS:- but anyways, major pointers for going through Naruto is skip chapters, and then catch up when u have a bulk of 10 or so behind...AND avoid anime completely until the series terminates.. but thats jus' me
