Psychonauts. It's a platformer about going to psychic summer camp, and it has a really good Tim Burton-esque feel to the whole thing. It may not sound amazing, but it was. Probably has a lot to do with why sales didn't match reviews at all.

IGI (i'm going in) - probably the best sniper-shooting game i've ever played...love the plot and the interface...IGI 2 was even better...too bad i can't finish it (low level graphic card)
NFS: Most Wanted - probably the best of its series after the porsche unleashed one...NFS carbon was so disappointing, however
Tomb Raider 2 - great storyline, great locations, great missions, bad graphics...it's very enjoyable, though...can't blame the graphics too much, since it was released 10 years ago

Played it, needed a walkthrough for some parts, but really fun to play, the best part was Napoleon and that game of his

Seconded FTW. Greatest PS2 platformer, period.
Also underrated... Timesplitters 2 (I think...?), Death Jr 2, Grim Fandango, and proly' some others...

Seconded Grim Fandango, Lucasarts first try at a 3D adventure, and it was brilliant

SUIKODEN series...
The game is SRSLY awesum..it deserves loads of loads of love. I get so emo playing Suikoden 2..I've never met such games that made me becoming so attached to the characters...
It's Epic...100% epic.... ;______;
The manga is awesum too, but I bet loads of ppl here have played Suikoden..but generally, it's underrated....(in my opinion, that is..) 😢

Metal Max - Basically another attempt for creating an Mad Max clone but it is still awesome you get a tank
Shin Megami Tensei - Very underatted in the states but in Japan it is the second best rpg under final fantasy.

The game I think is probably a very unde rated game is Shining Force for the Sega Genesis. I love that game, it's one of my top five most favorite games, but there are so few people who actually know of it.
I think the Front Mission series is kinda underrated, especially 4 since that cut scenes show robots going all out of control and shooting things up, and then it gets to gameplay and you find out it is a strategy game, which I found out turned off quite a few people. So only people who have played the previous games would continue playing it.
I know there are a few more that i've played that are underrated, can't think of them right now...

Final Fantasy VIII is great but you hear everey time FFX here FFVII there.....

Mark of Kri and Rise of the Tasai are both good games, and yet, it didn't received the recognition it deserves.
Okami is also an awesome game to play as well. But despite the originality, creativity and even good praises, no one bother to check out.
Finally, Killer 7 for the Nintendo Gamecube. So it was quite different from the rest of the game, and although the game didn't sold well, it did at least fave Goichi Suda some recognition.

Gothic 3, people complain about it but it is a great game, yes it got it's share of problems and others too but still it is better than people say

I second both of these, Okami was a game i picked up on a whim, and i ended up playing it foreeverrrr

Legacy of kain Soul Reaver (and all of one of the Legacy of kain Soul series) best games for the PSOne and Okami of course.
