I hope there can be something like a blacklist feature in My Lists. I happen to open manga that turned me off. SO it'll be nice if MU will have something like "X, Do not plan to read" in conjunction with the WIsh List, Reading List, and Complete List. A "do not plan to read" list will complement the three.

Yes, the "unfinished list" is basically the "I don't wanna read list."

The only problem with it is it's not accessible in the manga info page so you have to manually add what series to put in this list in the "My Lists" page.

and if you're talking about genre, there's the filter option that you can use to avoid certain encounters in the future.

seems sort of silly to make a list of manga you want to avoid. if its because you're afraid you'll forget about it and then pick it up again by accident i would think just throwing it on your unfinished list would suffice. or make txt files for that, its what i do. 😀

Yeah. I forgot the Unfinished List since I almost never use it. Only have 1 series in there. I only have 1 title that i started reading and gave up.

Uberzombie, blakraven66, Crenshinibon: They're kinda different you know. Unfinished list is something you started and gave up on. While the one I'm proposing are the ones you don't even want to start. Maybe because of bad reviews or its too short or its out of your genre. And UberZombie, wouldn't you like it better when you wanna find a new series and the ones that you've evaluated "not to read" are marked. That way you'll avoid reading four page reviews just to find out you've already read them. Also, I tried making an spreadsheet of these. But man, is it ever hard to maintain, I realized that yrs ago when I found BU. The unfinished list, well is just different, you started it, tried and gave up on..

kiddo: no I'm not talking about genre. You could also find titles within your genre and find them crap or too long or too short for your taste or whatever reason, maybe you're tired of the topic the manga tackles etc.

I understand what you're trying to say about the unfinished list, but the series' in the unfinished list already means a series you're not gonna read so I don't really see a reason as to why not to just use it for this purpose as well...

I read somewhere that there was a “custom list” feature ware being implemented, some time in the future, or maybe…

New List Feature...
one extra list ?

It would be a grate feature, and if you can choose your own icon to the list, then problem solved.

are you saying you want a list to keep track of what you don't want to read or a public list so ppl can see what you don't like?

if the first one, i don't see why not just using the infinished list, anything on there would have needed effort to be put on it so would be easy to remember what you don't like.

personally i just remember most series, atleast by the description, and unfinish list or ignore them

I definitely agree with barny on this. there have been series where I've read the description and decided not to read it. and then a few days later, I'll look at the series again, and then upon reading the description, realize that I already thought it sounded bad. sometimes I think I have short term memory loss, so this would be really helpful. ^_^

My "unfinished" list is a list of stuff I actually started to read and decided not to continue. One day, I might pick those series up again, so that's different from a "will not read" list.

i see this 'do not want' list hasn't been implemented.

although i agree unfinished list can be used, but the icon it has on release page is just stand out. it made us remember them even more. this very effect is undesirable, contrary to our intention to have 'dislike' list. we (well, i) wish, the titles we put on that 'hate' list won't appear to us, so that we can forget those titles as the time goes by. my suggestion, please enable us to hide titles in our certain list from release page. i will appreciate it so much.

my case:
just read the manga i judged bad AGAIN. my first encounter was months ago, yet today i read it again because i'm not sure if i have read it. as the consequence, i feel bad again. however, the most painful hit isn't about reading bad one twice, but the fact that i almost forget about it. are we not allowed to forget?

Yes, because the one coder we have has been quite busy with his job and actual life.

are we not allowed to forget?

You're allowed to do whatever you want to, but it's not our duty to protect you from a manga you judged as bad.

Any additions we make to the database are features. They benefit users. You are not entitled to them, nor are we feel obligated to provide them.

I really see little need for such a feature. It'd work if this site had only limited amount of content but as I see it, there're over 600,000 entries on this site and even more titles being added everyday(possibly coming close to 1 million titles soon). How are the admins going to even start monitoring any of the content?

I suggest thinking of your favourite foods and stuff whenever you come across anything that scars your mind. 😛

No problem--you can make a custom list for yourself to use as a blacklist. I've had one for a long time, and I don't know what I'd do without it. (I have its icon set to the blue circle for me, but you could choose a different one for yours if you want. If you don't like using any of the icons we have now because you might confuse the series on your blacklist with those on another list, well... um, please be patient and make due with what is available for now. We will probably have additional icons in the future, but I don't know when.)

my suggestion, please enable us to hide titles in our certain list from release page Hm, being able to hide series on your blacklist from the releases page... I think that sounds good. It could be incorporated into the release filter page in the user CP. But really, the decision is up to the one who does the actual coding and depends on when he (yes, there's only one right now, as XiongMao-kun said) has free time. There's already a long list of things for him to do, so please cut him some slack.
