I'm gonna put out my own theory. Ichigo's Bankai can't be sealed for a different reason. The guy seemed surprised when they couldn't take it in the living world, so it's clear that they knew what it's limitations were (which really shouldn't be hard since he uses it in every battle nowadays). I just want to go on record saying that they can't seal Ichigo's bankai because of his mother.

I think she will end up being the key to all of it. The reason why he was special to Aizen (Chapters 396-397... the most annoying non-reveal of the whole series), the reason why the bankai can't be sealed, and the reason why he seems to cause all the humans around him to gain spirit powers. I won't go on record saying what exactly she is to the spirit world, though she clearly had the ability to see hollows. She could be a shinigami like Isshin, or she could be a quincy (a reason for tension between Isshin and Ishida Ryuken), or she could be something else. But that aspect of his life has been left too ill-explored to not end up incredibly important, especially since she didn't show up among the Espada.

Well, at least I'm not alone in thinking his mom was a quincy. Although my reasoning behind thinking that was because Kubo is that predictable of a writer.

You really didnt read it properly. Ichigo's mother was HUMAN and the reason Aizen was interested in Ichigo was because he was a hybrid (Shinigami father and Human Mother). Thats all there it to...... Kubo isnt Oda who will try to stick to his theories. Kubo do whatever he wants like a boss without giving a damn even if his previous theories are spoiled by his new ones. There is hardly a thing called "logic" in Bleach.

Technically, Aizen wasn't allowed to finish saying what Ichigo is (he's a hybrid something, but we don't know exactly what). His mother could be anything, but she clearly saw the hollow that killed her, else she wouldn't have known to save her son, so she's more than just a normal human. Plus, being a human doesn't exclude Quincies, Fullbringers, or any other type of as yet unnamed spirit power user (Inoue is not officially anything, though I'd venture that she's a fullbringer). And with Urahara's suits that turn shinigami into human, even that isn't really removed as a possibility.

While Kubo doesn't always keep the same logic (plotholes abound in most if not all shounen), he tends to return to earlier segments for big reveals (e.g. Espada 9 ate Kaien). And toward the end of any manga, there will always be big reveals, whether they are predictable or not.

Tobi is Obito; the eighth flame dragon is Recca's father and has the phoenix shape; Ed can sacrifice his gate for his entire brother; Watanuki has waited more than a few generations to revive Yuuko; Syaoran's copy is actually his father; etc.

Ichigo's parentage is one of things I really doubt he'll neglect in the end.

I dont think Kubo will say that Ichigo's mom was a quincy. Aizen said himself she was a human and yes I am aware that humans includes quincy.

Kubo can give any ridiculous explanation for her ability to see hollows like he gave for Ichigo's friens who were able to see hollows and shinigamis and not to mention even able to stand Aizen's presence(lol Ichigo wasnt able to stand even a hollow's pressure in the start) and some of them even gain powers (that was bullshit if you really think about it).

Without a doubt,I can imagine the no. of people who will burn with rage if Kubo revealed she was a quincy with some ridiculous explaination.

Logic? You can find tons of things which doesnt make sense considering the original theories. Ofcourse there are other series who do the same but sadly Bleach is going overhills in terms of logic and I am sure you know what I meant by that.

xdude! Dude, a little warning for spoilers of other series. Thanks 🙂 By the way yeah either Kubo will do something somewhat obvious when it comes to more info on Ichigo's mama. But I still have this feeling that his mom may be human but she's probably from a higher plane to Soul Society. That King stuff, still has me perplexed.
