I think, as long as people arent forced into prostitution, it doesnt really matter. people can choose what they want to do, and who they want to do it with.

ppl should live their life however they want, that is my opinion.
BUT i think most of the negative opinions about prostitusion are from the fact that its a job with the risk of death, be it from a bad custumer or things like aids, or pregnancy, and the fact that children under 18 might take on that job for the excitement and the cash. even after 18, sex is a private matter, definately not to be thought of lightly as most of us do now. prostitution can leave many scars, physical as well as mental on the prostitutes themselves. i dont see how one can get back from thinking of sex as a job rather than something you do for fun or with your loved one.
for example if you wouldve get paid for reading manga or watching anime, but your employers would be those to decide what genre it is, the quantity of it, the lenght, where to stop, where to not read at all, much more you would have to find those people who will let you read manga, and suddenly, even in your personal life you would be unable to read or watch it... you wont go and do something for free when you can get money of it, right?

I'm against prostitution. Simple as that, a moral I've grown up with. Its a bit troublesome to have a clean life after being a prostitute in my opinion. If the past catches up on her, and she doesn't tell anyone in her new life, It'll take a person who truly loves her to keep her. I've met people and it is really depressing. Although its not the same with everyone, prostitution could have been a one time thing with them. Prostitution generally leads to darker things in the end though.

It seems to me that porn is even worse than prostitution. Not only do the women and men get paid for sex, it's also videotaped and distributed all across the world. Makes me wonder why that hasn't been hassled as much.
But I think the reason why prostitution is illegal is because some of the whores are forced to do it, rather than willingly deciding to do it like in porn.

O.O Good point Loose!
Porn industry IS similar to prostitution. They sell sexs!
I think ppl perceive 'prostitution' differently because prostitution involves direct contacts with clients, excessive stereotypings on sex workers, highly publicised in the media and specified places that are known as Red light districts..
Unlike pornography, we dont actually get to meet face-to-face with those people involved..we dont even know their lifestyles...they could just be normal people who's willing to have sex for money..and some of them are popular porn stars.

Well where I live prostitution is legal, just no pimps, pimping/recruiting, brothels or public discussion.
I'm no sure how I see the situation, on one hand I find it disgusting and just a horrible misuse of the body. Though it is a morality issue so what you do should be your business.

I don't like things like trafficking, child or animal pornography and other areas where innocent or unwilling beings (humans and animals) are used and abused because of other's greed without really having a choice in the matter themselves.
However, I have nothing against prostitution or pornography as such. As long as the participants are all willing and no one gets harmed (against their will that is. I'm not naive enough to think people don't get harmed during harder cases of BDSM but as long as that's what they themselves chose I've got nothing to say).
I think it's wrong to judge all who work as prostitutes or porn actors as loose and dirty (alternatively: wretched, poor and easily deceived little lambs). Every human is different and everybody has different reasons for doing what they do. I won't even begin to try and guess what makes a woman or man willingly decide to become a prostitute.
There's the other aspect to. "Normal" people frown upon prostitutes but the fact of the matter is that prostitution wouldn't even exist unless there were people willing to pay for it. Why is it that it's the prostitutes being shunned and scorned while the ones who pay them are perhaps frowned upon a bit?

As long as they pay their taxes... 🤣
I don't have anything against except when it's dealing with underage people. And people that aren't educated enough to give themselves other choices in a profession. If it's something you want to do because you enjoy the sex then have at it.
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

I was talking to my dad about this thread and he told me how some women were forced into porn as well and one woman who was in "Behind The Green Door" had a crusade against porn (Which obviously failed as you can see).
So in a way, porn IS worse than prostitution.

Wow.. y;know..it makes me wonder if some of the japanese girls in the j-pron are actually forced to be in the porno... some of them are...O.o..hm. screaming..overly-orgasmic when they have sex... it's so different from the 'fake' orgasms in western porn..
But hah, yes. In some ways, the porn industry has it dark sides. Similar to human traficking for sex industry, horrible people also make money out of snuff films and child pornography.. =(
and btw, Your DAD is very open when you're discussing these kind of things eh! 😎
