Naruto escapes from Chibaku tensei. The sphere begins to crumble...
Naruto's mind is distracted over Hinata and the rest of Konoha's villagers. He worries that they've been wiped out by Pein, but then the Katsuya that was in his pocket reassures him that they are safe, and Naruto is relieved.
Nagato coughs up blood (again).
Team Gai finally arrives. Tenten goes to Hinata. Her vital points were damaged, but with immediate care, she will be saved. Neji uses byakugan to search for a medical ninja. Lee discovers Mama Frog and reports an injured frog.
Gai says "Akatsuki... to think they are capable of this..." or something to that effect.
Back to Naruto. He tells Tendou he wants to talk to the 'real' Pein (i.e. Nagato).
Tendou tells Naruto it's too late to talk and nothing good will come of it.
Naruto decides to search him out. Katsuya asks how.
Naruto has an idea. During the fight, he will break off a piece of Tendou's chakra rod, and he will stab himself with it while in Sennin mode. The theory is similar to tracing a call.
In order to finish off Tendou, Naruto uses Fuuton Rasenshuriken. Tendou repels it using his jutsu. Knowing that Tendou has a 5 second delay to his jutsu, Naruto used a second shadow shuriken.

But there's something that I need answered...

Is that even possible? Is that how chakra has always worked, or is Kishimoto just making up new rules for chakra as the plot moves along? I'm guessing it's the former, seeing how the rods do react to Nagato's chakra, but thinking that he can trace them using his OWN chakra makes it move into the latter.

Well, you have to remember that Nagato is constantly sending chakra to those rods in order to manipulate those bodies. So if he "connects" himself with that active chakra rod, while in Sennin mode (where he's more sensitive) he would be able to trace back the chakra.
There won't suddenly be a screen coming up, saying "Target is in the Konoho Forest at coordinates 30-43" He'll just be able to "sense" the general direction of where the chakra comes from.
Katsuyu might've told that information which she got from (dead) Shizune.

If Naruto is going to be the one to track down Nagato, then what was the point of spending time and space mentioning that Ino's dad and company were going out to look for him? Seems kind of pointless if Naruto would be the one doing the heavy lifting in the end.

I agree with true_grave_unit.
All of the so-called investigation stuff in this arc has been handled very badly. I mean there were chapters and chapters devoted to uncovering Jiraya's message and all it ended up being was "the real one is not among them." Wasn't that an already obvious possibility--that either the Pain puppet master was one of the Pains, or someone hiding somewhere else? Jiraya used his dying breath to tell us THAT?
And then all that discussion with Ino's dad on where the heck the real Pain must be and what they finally, brilliantly discovered was "someplace very tall." That Pain was in that tower near where Jiraya fought him wasn't that hard to figure out either. And now having to sit though all that stuff is going to go to waste since Naruto is just going to beat Ino & co. to the punch and track Pain down himself. 😛

So did anyone understand how Minato was sealed in Naruto, and how he could "see" everything going on around Naruto but didn't even know how old Naruto is? He must have "seen" his birthdays no?
lol, Kishimoto surely had to work under great pressure, with only 17 pages to put up a intriguing and worthwhile chapter (which he may have failed to do). Either the 4th had watched over Naruto for too long time so that he forgot about the quantity of time has passed, or it's just the author's absent mindedness.

The whole chakra of the fox is, still, inside the fox,right? And the fox is behind the sealed gate which is all locked inside Naruto, right? and only half of its chakra is intentionally made to leak out of the seal (i think that sounds reasonable ) so the line of the 4th"...i sealed half of the fox's chakra inside you" is either the problem of translation or the latter reason above, i suppose.
However, i would like this manga much more if each chapter is 40 pages long 🤨

hmmm i thought Naruto can sense the chakra of all the ppl surounding him in sage mode, he said it himself when he asked about kakashi to Sunade..... so i dun think he needs to poke the chakra stick on his face... imo

mmm yeah yeah is this the chapter where Naruto's father [4th Hokage] comes in his mind or appears. that was an emotional moment for me. Well, i was surprised that Naruto didn't break down or something like an emotional face y'know. Hell, i can't believe i was the only one who broke down into tears and then the 4th dissapears like nothing. [sighs] It was surprising but yeah it was cool. I'm guessing Naruto was too tired or because the situations [i mean he was in the middle of the fight] and somehow he has become more....Mature..

Have you guys noticed he always seems maaad cool [even cooler than sasuke] when he's confronting a powerful enemy.
I've heard people say something about how he's always going into a moral speech or something like that, it's well, part of his character or so to speak. I think that's pretty cool.
